A.W. Miller Masonry Inc. Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In a previous email I rejected the response from A.W. [redacted] Masonry Inc but was unable to provide the details which I will provide here.
In the letter [redacted] sent to you she claimed that they "...
have taken car of his other concerns." That is not true and her letter is false in every respect. Here are the facts:

1. Mr. [redacted] finally visited my house for the first, and only, time since he did the work. I saw him walk past my front window and go to his vehicle and leave. He called me later and said he had knocked at the front door. I was sitting in my living room and didn't hear anything. Besides that, I have a door bell which he didn't push. I would say that he didn't want to talk to me.

2. Mr. [redacted] called me on the phone later and said he had looked at the work. He made the claim that the snowplow chipped the driveway.
That may have been true because the cement at that point had not been properly smoothed and was a bump that a snow plow could have easily caught and broke. See two photos: defect--driveway apron chip 1.jpg and defect--driveway apron chip 2.jpg.

3. My original complaint had to do mostly with the jagged crack in the sidewalk (See two photos: defect--sidewalk crack 1.jpg and defect--sidewalk crack 2.jpg). He acknowledged seeing it but said he didn't know why it occurred. I told him I thought it was because the stress relief groove he made with a saw had weakened the piece. My opinion is that the groove should have been formed in the wet concrete instead of saw cut in later and the saw cut was poorly done as the photos show. I told him this section of the sidewalk needed to be replaced.

4. I mentioned the sidewalk heaves but he didn't address them (See two photos: defect--sidewalk heave 1.jpg and defect--sidewalk heave 2.jpg)

5. He admitted seeing one of the three hair line cracks that span most of the width of the driveway (they don't show up in photos). He said they "should be watched."

I am seeking:

1. Replacement of the driveway apron from the sidewalk to the street.

2. Replacement of the entire sidewalk from the location of the heave, to the section by the mail box. This end by the mail box was not installed at the same level as the neighbor's sidewalk, as it should be. The replacement section would include the entire sidewalk above the driveway apron.

3. All grooves formed in wet cement instead of saw cut later in hard cement.

Hello [redacted] We have contacted the person who filed the complaint and gone over his situation and discovered that the snow plows have chipped at his driveway and have taken car of his other concerns. At this time the issue has been resolved. I[redacted]    ...
