We would be willing to settle for $3,900. We would also like to respond to the circumstances surrounding this situation.
The initial verbal estimate was for a simple 3 day dry-out [redacted]'s basement. A variety of circumstances led to a 3...

day dry out not being possible. One major issue was the discovery of a large amount of mold in [redacted]'s basement (photo attached), which then required drywall/plaster removal, which necessitated asbestos testing and then after the drywall removal, disinfecting and mold mitigation. Additionally, [redacted]'s basement was having seepage issues (this dry-out job was during record rains in May-June) which prolonged the drying time (photo attached). Finally, circuit breaker issues affected our ability to run our equipment. All of these issues were unforeseen and out of our control.
We are, and will continue to work with [redacted]'s insurance company to get all our charges reimbursed to her by her insurance, which we are confident we will be successful at achieving (especially with [redacted]'s support).
We believe that [redacted]'s frustration is, at least partially, due to her insurance company's incomplete initial payment to her which she is mistakenly regarding as a total payment.
Our procedures and protocols follow strict guidelines set by the [redacted] which is recognized as setting the [redacted] Our prices are set by [redacted] pricelists which are a pre-approved pricelist between [redacted] companies and [redacted] companies. The combination of following [redacted] standards and invoicing using pre-approved pricelists is a system that should create as seamless a system as is possible between [redacted] companies, our clients and [redacted] companies. We believe that we have adhered to this system and with some patience our invoice to [redacted] will be paid in full by her insurance company. Regardless of any settlement reached here, we will continue to work with [redacted]'s insurance to get her reimbursed for all our expenses as well as actions taken by [redacted], which should be reimbursed by her insurance carrier as well.
In the interest of great customer satisfaction, we will settle for [redacted]'s offer of $3,900.
