I have been the booking agent, (not the manager) for this studio for 13 years and have only had satisfied clients. We have plenty of reviews that reflect this. The guests that stayed before these people, and the ones that stayed following them, were all happy and satisfied...
with the studio. In fact the ones that stayed just prior to them wrote and told me they wished they could of stayed longer. This summer was on record as the hottest and most humid we have ever had here on Kauai. People that live here don't have A/C in our homes. We typically don't need it. For a few weeks prior to their arrival we had strange weather patterns with lots of unseasonable heavy rainfall, humid heat and very little tradewinds. I think everyone that lives here was pretty miserable due to these unusual conditions. I feel that when they arrived, they were hot, tired, hungry, the weather was awful and they wanted A/C. There were fans in the studio, but they had not turned them on, nor were all the windows opened. The woman is the one that made the reservation and never asked if there was A/C, nor was it advertised as having it. I feel that they wanted A/C, and therefore in a fit of temper, started to try to find things wrong with the rental unit so they could get their money back. The rental unit was exactly as advertised, but they choose to vacate the property. There were 2 small lamp shades that did have a small it of mold on them. I offered to remove them immediately and replace them the next day. We have since replaced them. There is not any mold anywhere else in this studio. It is very clean and well kept. It is not in any way a health hazard as they claimed. There was not any mold on any seat cushions as they claimed, but they were older and had a few stains, and we have replaced them. The bedding was dry and clean, the linens had been washed and dried earlier that day. There was no mold anywhere on the bed or bed linens as they claimed. I feel so bad that they did not choose to stay. The weather changed the very next day back to our regular cooler temperatures and wonderful tradewinds. Our rental agreement states; Should you experience inclement weather during your stay, this will not serve to void, alter, change or cancel the rental contract or rate.
