Took my car in for an AC compressor and drier. Ended up needing a motor. Three mos. earlier I brought it in for a new timing belt and tensioner. It had 100k so it was due. you see if the timing belt snaps while the car is running, the valves come down at the same time, hitting the piston and bending the valves, thus ruining the motor. So I had the work done. (preventitive maint.).
when themechanic put it togather after the AC install, he put the serpentine belt on wrong so it wore through the plastic timing cover and got snagged on the timing belt. Same end results, they blew the motor!!
