Ax Tree Services hired to grind a grove of bamboo stumps 8-12" below surface to include most roots as well. Day before I asked about time needed as I had care scheduled for elderly mom (it's her house) and I had to cancel within 24 hrs to avoid cancel fee. Was told 4-5 workers (including owner) at 8am and done well before noon and no need to cancel Mom's care. Two guys showed up at 8:40am and one left after 2 hours. Remaining guy just ground above stumps he could see above surface and missed at least 30% of visible ones all together just being sloppy. Called owner and he stopped by to assure me all would be done completely and correctly and left another worker to complete job that day. Took my check and left (apparently went straight to bank as it was cashed less than an hour later). So at this point I'm out of an extra $130 for my mother's care since they are still there. And workers left 30 minutes after owner without completing job. He finally after several days agreed to send them back the following week. I confirmed that it was the entire yard (not just spot checking) to be ground 8-12" below surface. He agreed. They came and just did the same thing all over again. And to top it off, they threw the empty water bottles (I brought them cold water several times) into my yard and neighbor's yard despite trash/recycle bins right next to them in the alley. They also left their lunch trash on our windowsill. To add insult to injury, the first day I gave them all (original 2 workers, owner and additional worker) hats/shirts. Still had no problem taking our money and running, despite assurances ahead of time that they are honest company. I've been digging up stumps myself and have thrown my back out 3 times. Called many times and sent pics of stumps untouched to owner. Promised call back but never do. Now my mom tripped over a stump they left behind and they are unconcerned about that as well. Company is unethical, sloppy and lacking in skill and professionalism.
