Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 12, 2016/05/09) */ The Problems with the customer has been resolved and they will be picking up their completed car on 5-5-2016. Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 18, 2016/07/01) */ I'm emailing you to see what the status of my complaint is... for Aycock Body & Frame. I've sent additional information about the complaint to [redacted] via email, but have not heard any update, etc. With my initial complaint, Aycock reported in May, 2016 that we were satisfied with their repair work and they hadn't notified us the the vehicle was ready to be picked up until two weeks ago. I have sent her a copy of the check that was being help by Aycock and I finally found the original invoice / agreement with Aycock signed by the owner himself - including receipt of the $30.00 cash that he couldn't remember we had paid for the inspection of the vehicle - he did not have it inspected. During the time that Aycock had our CRV, someone backed into the front of our vehicle and I'm enclosing pictures of the shoddy workmanship that was done. The bolts that they "dropped in" - not the type of bolts that are supposed to be used for attaching the pieces of molding - are just steel bolts. They do nothing to hold the piece to the frame and if they were to get loose and fall into the engine compartment, it could result in major damage to the engine (we have removed these as a safety precaution), but why didn't they properly attach this piece to the frame? We also paid for a roof rack to be installed - this wasn't done and the charge for this work wasn't deducted on the $1,600.00 that he insisted we pay upon picking up our CRV because "we had complained to the BBB and he didn't trust us anymore." They were also to remove the passenger side step because the driver's side step was damaged in the accident. That was done when we picked up our CRV - he never removed the brackets that now we will have to pay to have removed. I also reported how both the owner and his employee, Lee, acted towards us in public - they were cursing at us, accusing us of trying to get out of paying for the repairs and for reporting them to the BBB when we went to pick up our CRV. Additionally, I'm sending you a picture of the replaced driver's side door. It does not completely shut - we cannot use the electronic key to close or open the doors and when we drive the CRV, it sounds like the window is open. We, in good faith, gave Aycock $2,000.00 to start the work. We had a signed agreement to pay $500.00 when the vehicle was ready ( it only took almost a year to get the repairs completed), and we were to pay $110.00 a week until the remaining $1,100.00 was paid. Instead, he demanded payment in the form of cash or a cashier's check. This is money that we had to borrow at a very high interest rate. We also had to pay to have the inspection done, and they retained the $30.00. We initially asked to the remaining payment to be decreased significantly because of Aycock's refusal to complete our CRV (on the original BBB complaint). [redacted] assured me that the complaint would be reopened and the additional evidence would be taken into account. I'm attaching more proof of the terrible job they did in repairing our CRV. Would you please inform me of the status of this complaint? We, first of all, would like to have some part of the fees that were charged refunded. And also, we feel it important that no one else falls victim to this business. Please let me know - my my phone number is [redacted] . Thanks. [redacted] Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 25, 2016/10/27) */ From: Gary G [redacted] Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2016 4:57 PM To: [redacted] ; LEE G [redacted] Subject: Re: FW: Case# : [redacted] All work in the original discussion was indeed completed. the customer, even though their insurance company stated that their car was a total loss they wanted to save the vehicle. We have help out tons of customers in the same situation. I do not recall any discussion about purchasing a roof rack and installing it. As for their claim of improper bolt used on any piece of the repairs, we have not been notified by the customer about their concerns. In fact, the customer has not made any other effort to discuss with the shop about anything and is just complaining to the better business burial. The customer were the ones who got irate and cussing when they came and picked up their car when we told them that we were not in any position to be able to finance the remaining balance. We don't have a finance department here and didn't want the issues of even possibly having to repose someone's car and it was the customer in the original complaint that stated the trust between us was gone. After receiving their car they had to move and we didn't have a way to track them down. the number we had on file was misprinted and no response. The car was taken to the inspection shop but failed due to other problems with the motor. in order to get it to pass sensor repairs would have been needed which was not apart of the body repairs. we didn't know if they wanted the brackets for the running bar off or not in case they were going to get and aftermarket set so we left them on. it never came up during the pick up off the car but we will address that issue for then at no charge and we will remove the brackets. It will only take twenty minutes or less. we do have the whole incident of when they picked their car up recorded on video if any hard proof of who did what is needed. Again they have not contacted the shop to resolve any concerns, ever. This has made a change in how much we take on to help others and will indeed affect those who may truly need assistance.
