AZ Flood Squad Reviews (24)

definitely dont deserve an A- rating, more like D-, they (and others in this business) tend to run amuck, bringing in too much equipment and leave it running way too long$$$$, they dont follow instructions, dont do what they say they will do esp as it relates to insurance coverage (you should assume it wont be covered), I recommend to get full itemized quotations from any of these guys, otherwise your bill will be sky high!!!

Review: We had hot water heater leak on a Friday. AZ Flood Squad showed up 15 minutes after the plumber arrived at our house (the plumber had been called by our home warranty company). AZ Flood Squad represented themselves as working with our home owners insurance company, so we "thought" they were contacted by them. We came to find out that the plumbing company called them in. The representative from AZ Flood Squad left a large "dehumidifying" machine in garage and did nothing else to treat the water damage, they said they would return on Monday. They did come on Monday, however it was not by the promised time. They left another large "dehumidifying" machine and promised to return another day. There were "several" no-shows, reschedules and late arrivals throughout the week, causing my husband and myself to miss or be late for work several times. On Thursday a representative from our insurance company happened to be at our house when AZ Flood Squad came, they "measured" for moisture and told my husband (and the insurance claims adjuster) that it was just about complete (dry) but he wanted to leave one large machine for one more day just to make sure. While listening to all this, our insurance rep asked, "Why AZ Flood Squad had not pulled away any of the damaged carpet or baseboard to help dry up things, since the carpet & baseboard were being replaced due to damage anyway?". The rep from AZ Flood Squad then hastily pulled up a carpet corner and a piece of baseboard, leaving the baseboard with nails facing up inside our closet and promised to return on Friday BEFORE 9:00 AM to pick up the machines. They did not show up, we called again and were told nobody was coming and we were not even scheduled to come that day. I called back and spoke to the manager [redacted], he was VERY RUDE. We then were contacted by our insurance company informing us AZ Flood Control had submitted an absorbent bill and our insurance company had asked AZ Flood Company to removed "over charges", the refused.Desired Settlement: I wanted to make other consumers aware of this very unprofessional company and its work ethics. I had to be late for work when the last machine was picked up and felt SO uncomfortable dealing with this company that I had my daughter video tape during the pickup. Also, my insurance company informed us that there were unnecessary charges on the bill, our water leak was clarified as a "category 1" by both our insurance company and AZ Flood Squad, but were billed for a "category 3 decontamination

Response:

Our customer is correct that several inspections were re-scheduled due to emergencies. We operate much like the triage system in Emergency rooms. That is, when all available resources are in use; customer or patients in the most need of assistance sometimes jump the line so to speak, for example a gun shot victim may be seen before someone with a sprained ankle even know that person with an ankle injury may have checked in first. A customer whose home just burned, or whose home was vandalized and needs secured, whose under water, or whom just discovered mold in their infants nursery … when all available resources are in use, the emergency will come first and unfortunately, that means sometimes customer's are re-scheduled. This occurred twice for Mrs. [redacted] from our accord, and once because she was not available. We provide 3 hour windows as it is hard to predict the unexpected, traffic, and how long a previous job will run. Mrs. [redacted], took issue on 4.17.15 that we could not accommodate something before 9:00 AM, instead we offered between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM and arrived at 9:11 AM at which time the customer met us in her drive way with the equipment and stated we were late; however, we arrived in the window communicated and informed her of our scheduling practices. We do apologize for having to reschedule, but we do not offer exact times for non emergency inspections, nor do we inspect prior to 9 AM. When Mrs. [redacted] contacted the office and spoke with me, she informed us that her intend was to place the equipment outside. I simply reminded her (Professionally) that while the equipment is within her procession, she is and will be held accountable for its whereabouts; she abruptly hung up on me before the end of my statements. As far as the accusation about being, “Very Rude,” its not accurate; perhaps that's her impression after she was informed of her responsibility to care for the equipment placed in her home, but the verbal delivery of this point was very professional (She hung up on me - in mid sentence), I object to her interpretation. The carrier was billed a category 1 loss with equipment decontamination; this is stated on the first page of the invoice. We clean all equipment regardless of category and selected the more cost effective decontamination fee within standardized pricing accepted in the industry. Sometimes carriers may make the association between category 3 and equipment decontamination because it is done in those circumstances as well; however, we believe our future customers are entitled to equipment that which does not cross contaminate their homes. Drying equipment is not only subjected to various forms of water damages, but pet dander/ hair, mites, termite trails, bacteria, dust, odor, etc. Many people in Arizona have allergies and are transplants from other areas of the country; they were prescribed Arizona by doctors for severe allergies and asthma. This invoice was not billed category 3; nor did the carrier contact this office. I even reduced the amount of drying days billed to 3 days to compensate for the rescheduled visits (On the first draft). There is a difference between our willingness to work with most carriers and receiving work directly from a carrier. Our technicians did NOT represent themselves as extensions of the insurance carrier. The claim wasn't filed prior to the technician's arrival, our technician helped Mr. [redacted] file a claim, so I'm not sure how customer would think we “Where contacted by them,” … as they knew nothing of the damage until the customer filed a claim. The technician recommended on the first day base board and carpet pad removal to accelerate drying; Mr. [redacted] did not want these materials removed and kept responding he will do any repairs himself. It got to the point that this stance was prolonging the project and it wasn't until the adjuster informed him that he should allow us to proceed with our recommendations – that he finally allowed us to remove these materials. I can provide the claims adjuster's number so a representative from the Revdex.com can verify my statements.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. Regards,

Beware!! Brad is a fraudster scammer. Quotes me $1000-$1500 for water damage after a four hour water heater leak. They are not a registered contractor and are "recommended" by their partner's in fraud 1st Choice Commercial and Residential Plumbing. They wanted to cut open my walls and run some fans and then have another "recommended" company do the dry wall and paint.

I kicked them out. Tore out the wet drywall it was just a few feet no damage to framing or any additional dry wall. I spent all of $55 dollars in supplies.

After I kicked them out, I read yelp and Revdex.com reviews and this seems to be the way they do business.

Please don't be the next victim of these scammers.

AZ Flood Squad performed a water damage clean up in my home. They did a really good job in getting my house dried out and they arrived quickly. I wanted let everyone know how great they did for me every step of the way. They even dealt with my insurance company for me and got everything squared away. Thank you AZ Flood Squad for the prompt response and professional job.
