AZ Pool Care Repair & Remodeling

I recently (4/29/14) had my pool resurfaced by AZ Pool Care and it was done magnificently! The finished product was exactly as I had envisioned it. When [redacted] told me the projected timeline for the entire project, 12 days, I thought he was being rather optimistic. Another company had told me 3 - 4 weeks. The work began on-time and was completed as scheduled. The workers were prompt, courteous and true professionals. The work site was never left in disarray and the foreman never left without asking if I had any questions or concerns. I would not hesitate in recommending [redacted] and AZ Pool Care for any type of pool remodel.

We have contacted Mr. [redacted] regarding this complaint. We have worked out a solution that works for the customer, as there was a misunderstanding concerning timeline. Just hired these guys 4 months ago and I'm so happy I made the switch. My pool was not being taken care of properly by another company, and it kept costing me more and more each month. AZ Pool Care and Repair came in and diagnosed the issue right away and repaired it the same day. They were very professional, very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. My pool has never looked better! I highly recommend them!!

Review: Contracted for Re-Plaster of our 28,000 gallon Pool. The job has been abominable.

1. the pool plastering job is horrible (no inspection, no supervision in critical hours of job or after):

a. tile filthy – just had bead-blasted last spring

b. many areas of pool surface are extremely ‘rough’– will not smooth out with brushing

c. pop-up plumbing holes not cut properly (not circular – plaster will chip when pop-ups placed back in)

d. plaster dripping down inside plumbing holes – may clog pipes & damage equipment

e. light system covered with plaster, as well as many other things

f. rust stains (one good sized and multiple tiny in deep end)

g. all diamond chips on stairs are smeared and not cut or laid properly – they look terrible

h. 3rd main stair into pool has a large lump in the middle which is very obvious, bottom stair uneven

2. in floor cleaning system pop-up heads jammed with plaster during chip-out (not protected):

a. mechanism for all 27 heads no longer glides smoothly and will adversely effect cleaning of pool and possibly damage equipment

b. all pop-ups soaked in mixture of acid and H20, which may cause further deterioration

3. the property was left filthy:

a. cement thrown behind pool pump area (and on flood light) left to harden

b. the entire area around pool was not protected from potential overspray (i.e., covered with plastic) – rocks, cool deck, garden, lighting, etc.

c. cement poured on front R side of property and left to harden

d. plaster all over driveway pavers and walkway back to pool

e. grooves made in rocks in front R side – plastic left exposed under rock

4. it is now 3 1/2 days after plaster job was completed and 24 hrs after pool filled to 1/2 way up tiles and job supervisor has not come out to inspect

a. plasterers were not supervised during tile placement (they are not licensed to install tile, only plaster -- through AZROC)

b. supervisor never showed up upon completion to make sure job proper before filling began

c. plasterers' worked past dark -- could not see what they were doing (in pool finishing job after 6:45pm)Desired Settlement: Clean-up what is even possible, at this late point (i.e., debris and cement on property, dirty tiles, plaster in nozzle holes, etc.

Complete start-up as contracted (i.e., brushing, pump re-start, chemical balance)

NOTE: All, and any additional items, must be performed to owners' satisfaction and under direct supervision of owner

NOTE: Most items listed under "Problem" are not remediable, thus we would like to replace the original contract with one that states that the final 50% due on completion is no longer due. We believe that this job is so completely inferior that we didn't even get our original 50% worth!
