Az Total Pool Care Reviews (1)

I found this company thru Revdex.com website. It has A rating so I decided to give it shot. When I contacted Bob, the owner, he seems nice and eager to get my business. After agreeing to use his service, I received an invoice from him stating that I need to pay the fee at the beginning of the month before any service can start. I found this to be a little weird since all of the pool servicing company I have used always billed me at the end of the month. No big deal since I will have to pay one way or another. They came to assess my pool at the beginning of Jul and told me everything was fine. This was expected since I had no lapse in service from the previous pool company to them. Then while I was gone vacationing, I received a phone call from my tenant stating the pool water had turned green. I called Bob to ask him to look into that. The next morning, I received an email from him stating pool motor run on slow speed, toy in the pool, pool has not had proper chemicals in a long time, pool filter pressure is high that needs cleaning, pool water cannot be saved. I was a little confused with this email since they already came a week before and did the assessment of the pool. This tells me that they probably did not test the water nor check anything. I quote what Bob said "this pool has been neglected for a long time and did not turn green in the last few weeks". Did they not come just one week before and the pool was clear and sparkling? Anyway I was ok with his request to drain water for the pool since I was on vacation and cannot do anything else. Then the subsequent email from Bob stating that filter upper housing developed crack and sprayed water on the pool timer and caused short; the pool vacuum is badly worn and either needs repaired or replaced. I ok him to go ahead with filter housing but to hold off on the vacuum until I get back from vacation. In the mean time I had to get on my phone while on vacation to pay for all of the invoices before he started the repair. I came home and brought the vacuum to [redacted] to have them take a look. While at the house, I also observed the water was not clear and sparkling so I decided to get water sample to have it test as well. They inspected and told that only the wings need to be replaced. What came after that was a surprise to me. [redacted]’s pool technician told me that chlorine and cyauric acid level is almost zero and phosphates was high. I called Bob to let him know that the vacuum was fixed and also asked him if the company put chemicals into my pool yet. He told me that they did put chemicals into pool a couple days ago. I informed him that I just had the water test and sent him the analysis report. He said he would send the tech to take a look. Two days later, I stopped by the house and found that the vacuum is still not in the pool so I called and asked Bob. He said that the vacuum was not repaired correctly. I told him that [redacted]’s Pool fixed and tested it already. Anyway, I decided plug the vacuum in to test it myself. What I found out the reason that the vacuum did not run because pool valve was set too much on the skimmer side hence not enough suction to run. This was another incompetent issue from his staff. Another aspect that drove me crazy was the way he handles invoices. As stated, I prepaid my Jul invoice at the beginning of Jul. When they performed water draining of my pool, Bob said he would credit me my pool service charge for Jul. Guess what happed at the end of Jul, I got an invoice for Aug charge. I called and asked Bob what happened to waiving the charge. He then said ok, no charge. At this point I decided that I would not want to use them any longer but held off until the end of Aug since I was charged already. I cancelled service as of the end of Aug. In summary, in my very short time using this company, it was like dealing with a group of incompetent people or should I say it was borderline shady in how they run their business.
