Review: I recently vacated my apartment on June 4. I met with [redacted], the property manager, on that day for the final move out inspection. He told me since I lived there for 7 years that all I had to do was clean the place to get my deposit back. It is now June 27, 23 days later, 2 days after the 21 day California law requirement and still no check in the mail. I called [redacted] yesterday to let him know my deposit is late and to ask when I will receive it. He stated that it was in the mail and that I should get it by today. I checked my mail today and still no deposit check. I hope you can help with this matter. If I am reporting this to the wrong place, please email me the proper channel to use for reporting this issue. Thank you for your time and effort.

In reviewing complaint comments I add this response.
1. Residents moved in 6/1/05
2. Residents vacated 6/4/13 with no proper notice
3. The move out walk through was completed on 6/4/13 indicating the possible minor charges and was signed by Mr. [redacted].
4. On June 21, 2013 a refund in the amount of $344.59 was sent to the [redacted]
5. On 6/27. 6/29, 6/30, 7/1, 7/3 and 7/4 Mr. [redacted] left several VM's and abusive text messages.
6. On 7/2/13 the refund check was cashed.
7. On July 1 Mr. [redacted] called and said it was "illegal" to charge him for cleaning and wanted his $110.00 cleaning charge back. With the Owner's approval this was sent.
8. Mr. [redacted] then called and wanted ALL his deposit back and did not feel they were responsible for the actual damages. I explained the length of his tenancy has no reflection on damages in the unit (like the area rug they sewed to the carpet)
9. Owner approved sending another refund in the amount of $283.73 on 6/30 withholding only the rent owed.
10. Resident has been refunded the security deposit after several threats. All check to complaintant have been paid.

after threatening to report [redacted] to the dept. of real estate for operating without a proper license, I received the rest of my deposit :) and would like to close this case
