Complaint: I am rejecting this response because:In response to B&B’s response, I would like to make the following reply- My initial estimate for the repair was about $2,for the repairThe actual repair bill increase by about $1,This was a very large increase over the original estimate- B&B was negligent as an auto company in not better estimating the amount of the repairThe damage to the car did not impact its driveability, and the estimator opened doors to see damage inside the vehicle, so had a good idea of what it should costGiven that they have been in business for quite some time, their estimations should me more accurate- B&B was negligent in not letting me know, both orally and in writing, that, after its initial estimate, the actual repair cost could increase substantially- B&B misrepresented that 1) they did not actually open any doors (i saw him do this) and 2) that they called me to notify me that the repair estimate had increased (they never called me)Even had they called me, they did not obtain my permission to repair the car at the increased price- B&B had a duty to receive informed consent from me before repairing my vehicle at a much higher cost- In speaking with several auto insurance companies, at least one mentioned that one factor in setting insurance premiums is the dollar value of claims filed. In sum, by not receiving my informed consent for the increased cost of the repair, they caused damages to me by 1) taking away my right to refuse the repair based on the higher estimate and 2) likely causing my insurance premiums to increase. As B&B will not compensate me for the insurance premium increase, and does not accept any responsibility for their action in not informing me about the repair cost increase, I plan to file additional complaints with other agencies and write a letter to the state insurance commissioner to ensure B&B does not engage in such dishonest tactics in the future.Regards, [redacted] C [redacted]

I stand by my Yelp review response, "Please see attached" Yelp review response was written by me (as the owner of B&B Collision) based on facts only. Just to clarify when I said "we” I mean all of us at B&B Collision. I was not the estimator/file handler for MrC*** and
had no interaction with himI have estimators with years experience between themThey handle each estimates file so MrC*** needs to get his facts straight before he starts accusing people of untruths and stating write down what want to write down.Original file photo documentation shows both doors closed when vehicle Came in for estimate, Supplemental file photos show both doors open with damage to center pillar when vehicle came in for repairs, Had we been able to keep vehicle for repairs when it came in for original estimate and open doors to write a complete estimate we would not behaving this discussion, "Please see attached photos which are date stamped"Again just for clarificationOriginal preliminary estimate was $Supplement after doors open $for a difference of Not to $5000, Just the facts.Computer management system file shows date and time stamped call was made regarding supplemental damage and supplemental parts being orderedEstimator / file handler made that call and documented it in the file"Please see attached'Vehicle has been repaired for months, not and there was no mention of any quality issues in the original yelp review at the month markHowever we would be happy to take a look at MrC***'s vehicle as we offer a lifetime warranty on the repairs we did to his vehicle.Since the issue is insurance Company raising premium costWe called Insurance company and were told anything above $may trigger a rate increaseOther factors they may look at are driving record and prior claims occurrenceWhen we asked if cost of claim increased rate, we were told there are no steps to increased rates after $trigger has been reached so it's our understanding increased cost of claim over the $2682,would not be a factor.Bottom line is B&B Collision did not wreck the carWe did nothing wrong in the process of handling this claim or repairing this vehicle back to pre accident condition,B&B will not be refunding or paying MrC***'s increased insurance premiums.A*** *** YELP RESPONSE9/28/2017Hi ***,We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the cost of repairs to your Honda Civic.B&B has been in business since 1979, Our business was built on honesty and we have a reputation for taking care of our customers, which is why we have direct repair relationships with over insurance Companies. It seems your primary issue is the insurance renewal premium costWe have no idea or control over how insurance Companies set their ratesHowever, multiple claims and claim severity may be a few factors. Our first responsibility is to you as the Customer to make sure We repair your vehicle to 100% pre-accident conditionIt appears we have taken care of that responsibility as we have not heard back from you in the months since you picked up your vehicleIt appears the quality of repairs is not an issue,We are governed by the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) as to the way that we write estimates, We tän only write visible damage upon the initial vehicle inspection, then Supplement additional då mage after tear-down of the vehicleThis estimating process is also mandated in our agreement with your Insurance CompanyIn the Case of your Honda Civic, that is exactly what we didWe wrote a preliminary estimate based on what could be seenYou drove the vehicle in for an estimate but did not leave the vehicle for repairs at that timeDamage was on both right side doors and we did not open the doors for fear of not being able to close them again as you wanted to continue to drive the vehicle until parts were ordered and the repair was approved by your Insurance CompanyTherefore a 100% complete preliminary estimate could not be writtenThis would have been explained when you came in for the estimate.Events Timeline:4/10/- Itemized preliminary estimate was given to you with a description of repair to be completed per BAR guidelines in the amount of $with an explanation that additional damage may be found after opening doorsThe estimate was uploaded with photos to the Insurance Company and approved.5/1/- Vehicle came in for repairs, vehicle tear-down completed and doors openedWe found additional damage which required additional repairs to center pillar which is where doors attach.5/2/- Supplemental damage and repair costs found after doors were opened added to estimateThis brought the final bill to $which was also uploaded with additional damage photos to the Insurance Company and approvedFile notes reflect a phone call was made to you at this time regarding additional da mäge and supplement.5/10/- Vehicle completed and picked up.California law states that you have the right to have your vehicle repaired at the repair facility of your choice and we appreciate your businessWe at B&B Collision are very confident that had you selected another shop the Cost outcome would have been the same as we are all very competitive in our market.Again we appreciate your business and the trust you placed in us to repair your vehicle back to pre-accident Conditionif there is ever anything we can do to help you out in the future, please let us know.Sincerely,***

I am rejecting this response because:In response to B&B’s response, I would like to make the following reply1 - My initial estimate for the repair was about $2,600 for the repair. The actual repair bill increase by about $1,700. This was a very large increase over the original estimate.2 - B&B was negligent as an auto company in not better estimating the amount of the repair. The damage to the car did not impact its driveability, and the estimator opened doors to see damage inside the vehicle, so had a good idea of what it should cost. Given that they have been in business for quite some time, their estimations should me more accurate.3 - B&B was negligent in not letting me know, both orally and in writing, that, after its initial estimate, the actual repair cost could increase substantially.3 - B&B misrepresented that 1) they did not actually open any doors (i saw him do this) and 2) that they called me to notify me that the repair estimate had increased (they never called me). Even had they called me, they did not obtain my permission to repair the car at the increased price4 - B&B had a duty to receive informed consent from me before repairing my vehicle at a much higher cost5 - In speaking with several auto insurance companies, at least one mentioned that one factor in setting insurance premiums is the dollar value of claims filed. In sum, by not receiving my informed consent for the increased cost of the repair, they caused damages to me by 1) taking away my right to refuse the repair based on the higher estimate and 2) likely causing my insurance premiums to increase. As B&B will not compensate me for the insurance premium increase, and does not accept any responsibility for their action in not informing me about the repair cost increase, I plan to file additional complaints with other agencies and write a letter to the state insurance commissioner to ensure B&B does not engage in such dishonest tactics in the future.Regards,
