We contacted Mr. Rooter today (1/24/13) to have a leak fixed. They were to come out and provide us what it was going to cost before doing the work. They explained to my wife that it was going to be $257. However, after the work was completed the total cost was $293.57. That difference included tax and a "gas fee" of $14.00. On their webpage, http://mrrooter705.reachlocal.net/WhyMrRooter.aspx it states "Tells you the price before he starts." Well, not the whole price. I called Mr. Rooter at [redacted], and the lady who answered was not concerned with my complaint. I informed her that we would not be doing business with them again and she said that was alright. The lack of any empathy was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, I learned a valuable lesson on Mr. Rooter's true feelings about their customers. They will be very friendly until the job is done. There are many other plumbers out there that I would recommend before using Mr. Rooter.
