B and D Air Conditioning & Gas Heating, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted].
Thank you for your effort to remediate the dispute. I had an opportunity to review the business's feedback, and have to admit that it is not fully truthful, from my perspective. The resolution, that they are offering does not make technical sense. The business is saying: "(1) He approved the service work." - This is not true. I have not approved the Freon refill."He was given the diagnoses and cost to repair the unit." - after the fact, when I was billed."He unit is working. " - it was working before the service visit."(2) We did call him back and he wasn't able to talk." - not true. The manager claimed that he can not hear me."(3) His request for previous owners records were discussed with him before he purchased the unit.", but nothing was provided.  "If he wants we will recover the [redacted] and refund him that cost." - how do they suggest they separate "their" Freon from one that was already in the unit? Please let me know what can be done at this point. I do not want, at least, other customers think that this is a honest business, unless the business manager admits their mistake and refunds the unwanted charge.
Regards,
[redacted]

In response to the complaint from [redacted] of [redacted], MA  we are very surprisedby his actions.(1)  He approved the service work. He was given the diagnoses and cost to repair the unit. He never questioned the bill and paid the service call.  His complaint of a charge...

of $185 was actually $130so I don't know where that came from. He unit is working. (2)  We did call him back and he wasn't able to talk.(3)   His request for previous owners records   were discussed with him before he purchased the unit.  If he wants we will recover the Freon  and refund him that cost.

On December 9th 2013 I hired B&D Air Conditioning to install a [redacted] ductless heating unit in my new home. Prior to purchasing the home in August there was a full inspection of all working electrical plugs and areas and all areas of the house had working electricity (report can be furnished if requested). The night before B&D Air conditioning came to install the unit we used the electricity on the back porch. There were two lights (one we used regularly when coming in the dark) and a fan all low power souces. We did not do anything unusual or plug anything into the porch different from what we had there. [redacted] oversaw the project and left, leaving his son and worker there to finish the job. During the project they plugged in what they described as a very powerful pump to draw the air from the line. The originally tried to plug the pump in on the porch and stated it didn't work. The night before the porch power worked. The porch is connected to a mini breaker and this is where I believe the issue occured. In plugging in the pump they killed the power line. Instead of asking me if it ever worked, they continued to just plug it into other areas of the house. While they were doing this I was in the basement with the electrician and I witnessed the breakers pop multiple times from the plug in the kitchen. I went and plugged the line into the front room to avoid having more breakers pop throughout the process. The electrician asked me while I was in the basement "Do you use the power on the porch" and I responded YES. He did not mention anything further. B&D finished the job and left mentioning NOTHING about the power issue on the porch. After the incident we realized the light on the porch was not working and thought it was the lightbulb. It wasnt until Dec 21st that we tried other outlets on the porch to find we had NO power. I called B&D air conditioning and left a message explaining there may have been a mistake in the lines and asked that they came and look at it. That night I got a voice mail denying there was any issue and that [redacted] was sure that power source did not work upon entering my home (HE WAS NOT PRESENT DURING THE FIRST PLUG IN but came back after he was supposedly not coming back probably due to this problem that they never told me about). I called [redacted] back to let him know there were no problems with the electricity and his electrician was the only person to touch the electrical lines and box since we moved in. [redacted] continued to adamantly deny they made no issues. I asked if the pump could have killed the line or if his electrician may have made an error and he stated there was NO POSSIBLE WAY without even offering to come and have an electrician look at the box again. I became very upset that he was lying and telling me my porch power never worked without trying to resolve the situation. I explained several times the power was working and all I received back was denials. He stated he never touched "that side" of the electrical box. I'm curious how he knew what side it was on in the first place since the breakers are unmarked.
