Review: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!!!!!!

I bought a 2002 Ford Explorer on November 9th for $6000. I was given a CarFax that showed great maintenance upkeep. [redacted] the salesman took me on a test drive, but with there being so many cars on the lot and not much room to squeeze through, he pulled it out onto the road for me before switching seats. We went around a large loop and back to the dealership. When signing the paperwork I asked about a warranty and the man doing my financing told me that with it being an Explorer, that the warranty would be about $2500 and an actual repair would probably be less, so it seemed ill advised. We finished the paperwork and left for the 35 minute drive home. The next day when starting the car to take my kids to school it would not go into reverse. I waited a few moments before it jolted and shifted, did the same thing going back into drive. It did this twice that day in the 4 times I drove it, and once the next day. I left for Dallas on Nov 12th and returned Nov. 17th and on the 18th again drove my new car and it did this again on more than one occasion when getting into car. Realizing it was not just a "when cold" thing I called the dealership and asked about trading car in for something of equal value and was told no that I should bring it in to their service shop. The dealership is pretty far away and working full time and I could not get it down there til the 21st and because it did not do it when they tried it there for a few mins I was sent away until I could return and leave it for a day or two. I returned and left it on Nov 26th and they said they saw what it was doing but needed to send it to the transmission shop. I waited a few days and I called them on Dec 5th telling them I could no longer go without a car. They had been unable to figure out the problem. ** told me that every car on the lot is for sale, even if it hadn't been checked out by them which does not seem right. How do you slap a pricetag on a car without checking it out to see if anything is wrong with it? This is supposed to be a reputable dealer, if I wanted to play Russian roulette when buying a car I would have gone to a shady cheaper lot or a private owner. After leaving a Bad [redacted] review, they asked me to bring the vehicle back in which is very hard for me to be without a vehicle due to my hectic schedule. I was unable to get it back to them until the 15th and it had been doing it's thing the whole time. I usually end up just rolling backwards out of my spot instead of actually reversing as it won't go into reverse, and then I have to wait for it to click in to drive which can take a minute and I am blocking the parking lot til it decides to move. They called me on the 16th telling me again they are scratching their heads because they only got it to do it once. I would like for them to drive it for a few days regularly so that they can see how it really is and how often it does do it but I cannot go without a car and they stated that they do not do loaners. I cannot be without a car or I would NOT have bought one in the first place. I have not even made my 1st payment yet, I called them 10 days after I bought it, 5 of which I was out of state and unavailable to do so, and they will not switch cars of an equal value and they are now telling me that they cannot get the car to act up that much and since it is so intermittent they want $1100 (plus tax I'm assuming) to fix this car. THIS IS [redacted] It is not that intermittent, I drive it daily and it does it ALL THE TIME, not 100% but A LOT. THEY SOLD ME A [redacted] CAR AND REFUSE TO TRADE OR FIX IT!Desired Settlement: I want them to recognize that they sold a bad car and either fix it or allow me to trade it in for a car that has no issues.

Thank you for your correspondence in reference to Mrs. [redacted]'s concern.

We are sorry to hear Mrs. [redacted] is still experiencing concern with her 2002 Ford Explorer. We did have Mrs. [redacted]'s vehicle in shop and found no concerns with the transmission. In addition we sent her vehicle to a transmission shop whom also reported no concerns. Unfortunately it is a intermittent problem and needs to have concern act up when here to resolve. I think it is important to point out that Mrs. [redacted] was offered an after market Warranty. She unfortunately will be responsible for any expense of repairs.

Thank you again for your correspondence, looking forward to resolving expeditiously.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I think it is important to point out that I WAS NOT OFFERED A WARRANTY. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT A WARRANTY AND HE ADVISED ME AGAINST IT. Are your office conversations recorded? Because THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WILL HEAR! I asked about a warranty on the car when we were doing the paperwork and he (I believe his name was [redacted] it was the twin that worked in the financing office) said that with it being an Explorer that the warranty would cost me upwards of $2500 and he did not recommend it because I would pay less out of pocket if there WERE to be a repair needed. I said Oh ok then. ALSO, ** in your shop said he DID see it act up and that it WAS in the transmission and offered to replace it out of my pocket of course. I WILL NOT BE PAYING YOU ANY MORE MONEY, I will take it to be fixed elsewhere as you guys have shown very bad business and sold a car that you didn't even inspect first before slapping a pricetag on. ** told me that vehicle never went through an inspection before you sold it to me. I hope I save some other poor soul from losing their money to a shady dealer as I will be telling everyone I can.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/01/14) */

We at B&B Auto Sales are sorry for Ms. [redacted]'s inconvenience. We still maintain we will assist her with any of our resources available to us.

My son bought a 2010 Ford F150 from this place in May 2014. What a BIG HORRIBLE BAD DECISION. The salesmen kept telling us what a really great truck and that it had NO ISSUES. BOLD FACE LIES. They also showed us a car fax on the vehicle- wondering now if it was the real thing Also was told that there was NO after market warranty company that would offer a warranty on the vehicle. Sure that was a lie too. In June it cost 2122.58 to fix many things that were wrong with it. Also found out that whomever painted the underneath of this truck did so to COVERUP the abuse and condition of which this truck was driven. There was so much mud caked up under the truck that only could be seen when the truck was completely lifted off the ground. Funny to think back that the salesmen made it a point to point out how clean the truck was inside and out and under it. I firmly believe they knew all the issues/problems with this vehicle but choose to not say a word. They lied. 20K truck that now has a transmission issue. The problems never end with this vehicle. By the time all is said and done I will have bought this truck twice - car payments and repair bills. When the first issues started we called them to talk to them about this the salesman was no longer there and everyone else was too busy and no one ever called u back. Called again pretty much told too bad so sad. Deal with it we bought it's our problem now. Please never purchase a vehicle from them. Read the other reviews about them. Wish we would have looked into this company a lot more because if we would have we would never have gone there. We are filing a compliant with the Revdex.com against them. It probably will do us no good but at least it may keep someone else from having this happen to them

Review: ON April 19,2013 purchased a 1992 jeep cherokee from this dealership-I gave them $500 down , was told the vehicle was the best they had on the lot for the price and that the engine had been rebuilt and had only 60,000 miles on it and would last for 6 months or more. The passenger side door was falling off and was told I could have it repaired for another $200. After having the vehicle for about 1-1 1/2 weeks, the vehicle when starting it began pouring black smoke from the engine area and then would not start. contacted b&b auto sales and had the vehicle towed in only after going from beligerent sales person to finally a manager. Was told the belt broke because the air cooling compressor froze. They made the repair and because now the passenger door had to be bungy corded to stay on and now the same for rear passenger door, they also went ahead and fixed this, putting the repair costs on the end of the contract loan. Now 2 wks later while driving the vehicle it would suddenly turn off, restarted it and drove a short distance and again engine would die. Pulled into a local gas station attempted to restart the vehicle ,it made a strange noise and would not turn over. Contacted b&b auto, they sent a tow-this was on a Saturday and was told wouldnt be able to look at it until monday. Called them on Monday and was told they were too busy to get to it. Called on Tuesday afternoon, and was told by Manager [redacted] that the car was not worth repairing-oil had leaked into the engine and blew it up, and that he needed another day to see how he could make this right. On Wednesday June 5th I called and spoke with [redacted] he said the Manager [redacted] he was trying to speak with was unavailable and that there was nothing that they could do for me, I asked for my $500 deposit back and [redacted] became belligerent with me, told me no and that I hadnt even made a first payment on the car, I told him "yeah" because I hadnt had the car long enough yet to even make the 1st payment!...he continued to become belligerent with me flat out refused to talk to me, I requested that the Manager [redacted] call me back that evening(No Response from [redacted])So, at this point I am without any transportation and because of this have missed 4 days of work for this event and 3 days from the previous problem with the vehicle. I feel I was given misleading information regarding this vehicle and because at the time I was in a vulnerable position where I was needing transportation and had no other means of acquiring a newer vehicle, I was taken advantage of. I understand the vehicle was sold to me as is but because of their misrepresentation of the vehicle I dont believe the "as is"applies in this case.

Thank You Desired Settlement: I am seeking my deposit money of $500 refunded to me and the loss of wages of $400 for the reason of, I never received calls from them as to the status of the vehicle and I believe this was done deliberately. Because of this situation I may even lose my job over this.

Thank You

To Whom it May Concern

Thank you for your attention to this matter. [redacted] has been traded into a different from vehicle from the above complaint. This issue has been resolved.

Review: I believe that B & B Auto Sales deceived me with the real information of the problems of the vehicle I purchased from them in May 2014. They claimed that this was a great truck - they also stated they checked out this vehicle and it was great. All of this is not true. I also asked about a extended after market warranty and they said there was no company out there that would offer a warranty on this truck. Another fact I believe to be untrue. When I first started having issues with this truck in June of 2014 I called B & B Auto Sales and got the round around from the salesman is busy to he will call you back to oh he don't work here anymore to so sad to bad you bought now it's your problem. The first set of repairs cost me 2122.58 (had to replace MAF Sensor, Air filter, Fuel Pump, power steering cooler and replaced rear u-joint for center bearing on rear drive-line). When the truck was put up on a lift there was ALOT of mud caked up all over the underneath of the vehicle which could not be seen unless the truck was in the air. The whole underneath of the vehicle was painted which is what you saw if you looked under it - the nice black paint. The salesman made it a point to tell me that the truck was very clean and well cared for as I could notice by the nice black paint on the underneath of the truck. Second set of repairs over $500.00 dollars (repair faulty window assembly) now I am looking at 3500.00 to 6000.00 to repair the transmissions. I have not owed this vehicle a year yet.Desired Settlement: I want them to pay for the repairs or buy this truck back at what I owe on it and return my money I put down and what they gave me for my trade ins. I believe they knew of all the issues and kept that information from me. I can provide records of repairs and documents/evidence of problems upon request from the Revdex.com

Response:

We at B&B Auto Sales attempt to keep all of our customers satisfied. Mr. [redacted] purchased this truck in May of 2014, because of the time which has passed, I can only go by signed documents. The "Vehicle Due Bill" indicates "sold as is" and "no free work promised." However, B&B Auto would like to assist Mr. [redacted] with his concerns, as $3000-$6000 to fix a transmission appears to be a high estimate. Mr. [redacted] is welcome to contact our shop to set up an appointment at ([redacted]. Thank you[redacted]GMB&B Auto Sales

Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:They attempt to keep their customers satisfied but I called their business numerous times to speak with them about the issues I was having. I was told someone would call me back (no one did) I called and ask to speak with [redacted] the salesman I dealt with in this purchase (he never called back) after I took mytruck to [redacted] (I have done business with them for a few years prior to purchasing this truck - they are a shop that has been inbusiness for over 55 years) on 6/18/2014 I called again to B & B to talk to them about the diagnostic results with the problems I was having and Iwas told [redacted] no longer works there but they would have a manager call me back as soon as one was available but no one called. As I stated in my compliantthose repairs cost me $2122.58.Mr [redacted] stated he could only go by the documents- stating I purchased this vehicle as is. He does not address why his salesman told me they could not sell me an after market warranty when I requested to purchase one as a precaution in buying a used vehicle which would have helped with the costly repairs that I am now paying for on top of my truck payments. Nor does he address that it took 3 days after I signed the paperwork to take possession of the truck because it was in their shop being fix for a shudder that I was told by the salesman [redacted] would be fixed. While I was signing the paperwork with [redacted] (its hard to read his name on the paperwork but this is my best guess to what his name is) when I mentioned that the truck was in their shop to fix this issue he stated "no sense in noting that on the paperwork since it was being repaired. But it was not repaired in any matter as that was a issue fromday one. One that I called back about and never got a call from [redacted]. Ihis shudder is cause by the TCC and will require internal automatictransmission repair. The bill for the transmission rebuild with reman torque converter and the ford specified transmission fluid with sales tax was2831.67. Having [redacted] rebuild the transmission is the route I choose to take because I could not afford to purchase a transmission directly throughFord at around 4600.00 [redacted] states that the estimate for 3000 to 6000 appears to be a bit high and I should bring my truck to theirshop. 1st off my truck did not move at all. No forward or reverse which is why it was towed into [redacted] on 3/5/2015 after I had to tow it to myhouse from where it broke down the night before. I do not understand how I was to even bring the truck in and 2nd why I would bring it to their shopwhen at the being of all the problems starting I could not get one call returned or a straight answer. I do not at this point trust them and 3rd whywould I take it out of shop that specializes in transmission repairs that I do trust.I was told by 2 of their salesman one being [redacted] that this truck was one of the best vehicles on their lot. That they checked it over thoroughly before it wasput up for sale which included it being up in air and inspected underneath and that you could tell by the nice black paint under the vehicle speaks to howwell maintain and clean this truck is. But as you can see by the attached pictures of the mud caked on the wiring and frame not to mention the driedamount of mud on the transmission itself that this truck was driven through a lot of mud. The car fax I was given says this truck is guaranteed not tobe salvage junk rebuilt fire flood hail or a lemon. After the numerous problems and the amount of money I have had to spend on this truck I can not see how it can not be a lemon. I purchased this vehicleto it for a long time as I put a lot of money into making it the vehicle I wanted it to be short of it being Brand new. I am again requesting that B & B Auto Sales does one of the following :Option 1 - purchase this vehicle back from me for the total price of the vehicle $23211.94 plus my down payment of $3000.00 and the trade in amount of$3000.00 plus $2250.00 which includes the following (door speakers (2 of speakers in the vehicle were blown and 1 had a hole in the speaker) ,HIDheadlights & fog lights, remote starter, alarm, 2 8"sub woofers plus custom made box for the sub woofers, in cabin lighting, 7 1/2"touchscreen in dash CD/DVD Player, and fixing of all wiring that was cut from back left door jam (this is all done by a professional shop- Platinum MobileElectronics) or be given enough time to remove all the fore mentioned items. If they choose option 2 they get the vehicle back in better mechanical conditionplus all the add ons to drive up the sale price, Option 2 - purchase this vehicle back from me for the total price of the vehicle $23211.94 plus my down payment of $3000.00 and the trade in amount of$3000.00 plus and I remove the following (door speakers (2 of speakers in the vehicle were blown and 1 had a hole in the speaker) ,HIDheadlights & fog lights, remote starter, alarm, 2 8"sub woofers plus custom made box for the sub woofers, in cabin lighting, 7 1/2"touchscreen in dash CD/DVD Player, and fixing of all wiring that was cut from back left door jam (this is all done by a professional shop- Platinum Mobile Electronics)Option 3 - pay off my existing loan of $16,001.14 plus return to me my down payment of $3000.00.Option 4. Reimburse me back for all repairs to date $5478.77 as well as my down payment $3000.00 and what I was given for my 2 trade ins $3000.00(which my fire-bird was sold within 24 hours of them having it on their lot which was 2 days before I ever got possession of the 2010 Ford F 150 I purchased from them) so I can put this money aside for the next round of repairs and I keep the vehicle. I have the pictures but could not add them with the limit of only 4 documents I can supply these upon request. I am asking for 1 of these options be fulfilled as I was completely honest with them about both my trade ins and left all the after market itemsadded to these vehicles. I will also upon one this options remove negative reviews and write a positive about their business.Fire-bird - Alarm, fold out CD/DVD player, equipped with hands free calling and navigation , 6 JL Audio 6 x 9 speakers (front door, back seat and rear) plushad recently replaced weather stripping around doors and t-top. That it was converter from single exhaust to a dual exhaust american thunder series flowmaster exhaust system. I was honest with them about the small hole in the drivers seat, small hole in passenger side carpet, the worn spots around headliner and sun visors. Fairly new brakes.99 F 150 - HID Lights, CD Player, Alarm, Remote Start, Front an Back JL Audio 6 x 9 door speakers, Canopy ,recently done brakes and 3 full size on rims spare tires. I was honest about heavy scratches in the bottom right door, the small dent by antenna (due to vandalism on 1/1/2014) brand new front windshield (also due to vandalism on 1/1/2014) plus that the left side slider window leaked with heavy rain. Both of these vehicles were in good running condition and the only reason I traded them in was because I grew tired of paying for full coverage insurance, maintenance and upkeep on both vehicles.I expected the same from them - HONESTY. I also trusted them for 3 days after I signed all the papers to get the truck I purchased. When given thechoice of which of my vehicles I wanted to take and drive while I was waiting for them to complete promised repair I took my 99 F 150 and left the Fire-birdwhich as I stated above they sold immediately and before I took the new truck. I choose the truck because I needed it for my job. Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: We bought a used car from these people, they sold it to us with a broken windshield which we didn't know was illegal and charged us to have them fix it three weeks later. The minute we drove off the lot the check engine light went on and the power steering went out. They said they would have their mechanic look at the car

They also sold this car for double the blue book, the sales person told us the car was going to go on the lot for 3900 but they hadn't gotten it prepped so he would let us have it for 1850 if we paid for the windshield. We have called several times and they have never provided the information of what is wrong with the car. They just don't return calls. It's been a month. Desired Settlement: Fix the car so it's safe and fix the check engine light problem.

[redacted] purchased a 1998 Mercury Mystique from B&B Auto Sales. On [redacted]'s due bill it states that "B&B Auto Sales is to replace windshield." Mr. [redacted] signed the "As Is" contract. This means that all work done after the purchase of the vehicle was his responsibility.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2014/06/02) */

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Yes. I will call [redacted]. I spoke to a gentleman named [redacted] before. I have called and called and no one returns the call. We haven't driven the car since they didn't tell us what was wrong with it. I understand it was as is but as is when the sales person told you there was nothing wrong with the car and then driving off the lot and the check engine light goes on and there is obviously something wrong. He said it was an old car. They did replace the windshield for a cost, the sales person said they wouldn't but we could buy it from them for a smaller fee and at the time I didn't know it was illegal to sell a car with a broken windshield. He did. He sold us a car with a broken windshield then charged us their "cost" to repair it. He said they were going to sell it for 3900 but they needed to clean it up. Then they said two or three times when they did answer to bring it in and the repair person would tell us what was wrong and if it was a quick fix so we did twice and no call back yet.

I traded my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon/sport vehicle and got a peace of crap mercury station wagon. The trade in for my car was $ 2634.37 + $ 700.00 down from my SSI money for a 94 Mercury Sable. The blue book for my Hyundai was 5,000.00. The mercury started dying after two days. Not even two weeks we took it back to get a vehicle that wouldn't die on me. So they traded in the mercury for $ 1500.00. For a vehicle that has no problem, but now this vehicle is turning out to be a disaster. The brakes are bad, timing needs replacing, fuel pump, the fuel injector needs to be flush, the starter is going out, rotors are needed replacing and it needs to have a tune up. This company also missed up on the paperwork and now they want to blame me for there mistakes. Now the bank dropped the contract. So now they want to repo my car. They are not a good compay to work with. They are LIERS, con artist, manipulate their customers plus they don't tell you everything that is going on when you sign a contract. customers be aware do not shop at B&B auto on River Road. Plus they tried blaming me for there mess up, saying that the loan company dropped my contract because I was rude to them. First off they got my fiance's work name wrong and my cell phone number wrong and a lot more information wrong. So now they are wanting to re due my contract and put me back in the peace of crap mercury witch had so much issues with it. That car almost got me and my fiance killed, because it shut down on us on the freeway and at stop lights. There very bad people in person and on the phone. If I could, I'd give them no star but won't. They don't deserve a star. They're very crooked business. If I have to, I'll be bringing my attorney in this.....this company needs to be shut down. Even sharks can get hunted down. And that's what b&b company is, a bunch of sharks.

Review: In March I purchased a truck from B&B, 3 days after purchaseing I called the salesman and said there were major issues with the truck. It cannot be driven in the rain, engine runs rough. I was told by salesman "you bought it as is"! The day I looked at the truck it was a sunny day, it idled fast, salesman said it was normal. I asked the salesman if this truck had any issues. He said "it is one of the best trucks on the lot, if it's not right it wouldn't be on our lot". When I called him back 3 days later and told him what was wrong he said "you bought it as is, we won't do anything about it"! I was lied to and taken advantage of. I told [redacted] the roof was leaking on the cab, he said "are you sure it's not the windshield"? They new this truck was defective. My mechanic said B&B Auto turned the idle up on the engine so I couldn't hear the lifters ticking. I honestly feel B&B fraudulantly sold me this vehicle knowing all that was wrong with it. Estimates to fix this truck is over $3,000.00.Desired Settlement: I want B&B auto to pay me for these repairs totaling $3,300.00. I have had to take out a loan to get this truck fixed.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

It took 3 phone calls to get B&B to answer. He ([redacted]) states the salesman wouldn't say what he said to me. He will talk with the salesman and call me back, the salesman is going to lie. They will not return the money I already had to spend to fix the vehicle. I am going to see a lawyer and file suit. B&B auto ([redacted])saw an opportunity to take advantage of me, telling me there was nothing wrong with the truck, and sell a truck that was defective and not able to be driven in the rain.
