Mr. [redacted] purchased a used quality car from B & B Auto Sales. At the point of purchase, the car was performing perfectly. When Mr. [redacted] claims the problems occurred, our warranty had already expired. The terms of our standard warranty are 30 days or 500 miles, whichever occurs first....

When Mr. [redacted] reported the problem,he had already driven 1,453 miles and had driven 953 miles over and above the warranty period. Mr. [redacted] told me that he had the oil changed on the vehicle and had replaced it with 10-30 weight and this vehicle required by the manufacturer to have 5-30 weight. This was the reason why the original engine on the vehicle was damaged. Despite that occurrence, I still helped Mr. [redacted] by replacing the engine on the vehicle and spent $1600 on this engine replacement. I had not heard from him since until this complaint was filed with the Revdex.com. On top of the issues claimed by Mr. Lee, the car was sold to him at a discounted price of $4950 which is $1,013 below fair market value and not at fair market like he claims. The other wiring problems claimed by Mr. [redacted] relate to the door remote opener. The car did not come with a door remote and I gave him one that we both agreed he would have programmed by the dealer. He failed to have this done and now calls it an electrical problem. Mr. [redacted] has since violated  the terms of our contract by not paying the full down payment of $2,200 since he only put $1,515 down owing $685 for the full down payment. I gave him an additional 25 days to pay the balance. At this point, Mr. [redacted] is also behind 2 payments.  Based on his failure to perform on our contract I am in the process of repossessing the vehicle. I am sorry that this issue has happened.  I have been in the car business for over 18 years and I have always gone above and beyond in striving for customer satisfaction as evidenced when I replaced the engine on the car at my own expense.

Respectfully,

Owner

Review: I purchased a used vehicle from B&B Auto Sales and the vehicle has given me many problems. 20 days after my purchase, the engine went out while on vacation about 400 miles from home. I ended up having to pay towing and hotel fees. Also, the car's electrical system is dysfunctional, overheats, does not gauge fuel correctly, and, just found out the catalytic converter is damaged (2 months after the purchase) and will cost about $1000 to repair. In conclusion, as a consumer I expect (even a used vehicle) to perform properly, especially, because I paid market price for the vehicle. The quality of the vehicle sold at this lot combined with the customer service is not acceptable and an investigation should be conducted as to the quality of what is being sold at this lot. It is not fair for consumers.Desired Settlement: As explained above, this vehicle has given me many problems and is costing me more money than I wanted to pay for a reliable used car. At the very least I would like to recuperate some of the costs related to the repairs, towing, and other expenses mentioned above. My desired settlement option is replacement for a more reliable used vehicle.
