Review: In Oct. 2011, I received a quote to rebuild a chimney from B&B Chimney Services. The quote was very reasonable so I accepted. On Nov. 14, 2011 I wote a check to the owner Mr. [redacted] for $100 dollars for supplies. It was not the full 1/3 of the quote he requested due to a shortage of cash at the time. He stated he would do the job on Nov. 18, 2011. Temperature and weather delayed the job and in Dec. Mr. [redacted] stated I would be first on the list in the spring. Since I didn't hear from B&B Chimney in the spring, I began calling B&B Chimney services in June, to schedule the job. I called several times in June, 2012 and several times in July, 2012. No answer or call back from Mr. [redacted]. At the beginning of August, I called and requested the return of my deposit. I waited another month to file a complaint. I realize that $100 is a small amount in the world of construction services. However, I'm retired and this is the perfect crime. The amount is too small for small claims court so what can I do? Hopefully, provide a complaint so other elder consumers will not fall this type of activity.Desired Settlement: If I can get my $100 back that would be ideal. Since that might not happen, then I want other consumers, especially seniors aware of B&B Chimney's business practices.
