Your door is here. If you'd like us to eat it and refund you the deposit I don't have an issue with that however the door costs me substantially more than the deposit so I would prefer to install it for you in the next week or two if possible? I know you've heard that before but I...

should be able to set a date in the next couple of days.
The delay hasn't been intentional and there are zero hard feelings on this end. It is 100% my fault, I'll be the first to admit it but  I still want to get you the A+ job that we were know for, and that one that you hired us for. I've always run a thin office, where we shine is in the field and I've been doing this for a long time and until about 2 months ago we had a very efficient system. We don't sub out the labor and I had to replace some team members on the crew. We had the wettest February and June ever this year, we've been playing catchup since before your order was placed but the real issue has been more personal.
My wife and I were expecting our first child in late August and he arrived unexpectedly early. I was literally at work one day and at [redacted] Medical Center the next with my wife having an emergency cesarean. I had zero time to set the schedule or prepare the company for my absence. We still don't have a nursery and for goodness sakes we didn't even have a name until he was 3 days old. Day 5 we were discharged, I believe we spoke this day and I said I was going to check the warehouse the following day. The next day, day 6 we saw the pediatrician who said we were only let out because 5 days is all insurance covers for cesarean. We were rushed back to emergency with a body temperature of less than 96, blood sugar of 32 (should've been 60-70), Bilirubin that had risen to almost 20, elevated liver enzymes, and dehydration so he couldn't even be put under the light. He was admitted it NICU and we just got home on Tuesday. Wednesday we saw the pediatrician, yesterday a gastroenterologist and this morning I finally got to my desk. I'm sorry but I wasn't leaving them.
I've been home for 3, today makes 4 days in the past 28. I saw the Revdex.com complaint this morning in my email and I'm responding immediately. My inbox is newest to oldest top down so if you did email me while I was out I'll respond as needed when I see them. I have 43 jobs to do and even though life itself hasn't been easy of late I'm all about doing the right thing. We're not bad people, we may be late but didn't run off and haven't been hiding from you. I'm a firm believer that the customer is always right so if you no longer want the door I do understand and I sincerely apologize for any stress my situation may have caused. I've only had to refund one or two deposits ever out of thousands and thousands of jobs preformed so if that is the case I'd like to bring it to you in person. My name is on the door, the recent press on my company is embarrassing and if you wont allow us to fulfil our end of the agreement then I'd like you to see my sincerity and end it on a handshake instead of just pushing it in the mailbox. It would mean a lot to me.
In an effort to help if you do opt for the refund and decide to go in a different direction please let your new contractor know that the door is supposed to be 84" in height with a make unit size of 85 1/2. I had to measure it a few times to catch that the original opening has been manipulated previously. This will take the door back to the original opening size it's supposed to be. Since Anthony didn't catch it he wasn't aware that oversized doors have an extended lead time, not an excuse the delay is my fault and either way we'd still be late. When I found out the door wasn't a standard 80" I didn't bring up that they cost more either because I am always trying to help. Sometimes it isn't about the money it's about getting our clients the best possible job. We've never raised the price on anyone and I looked at it as an "is what it is" situation. If I wasn't honest we could've put in the standard 80" door but it wouldn't've been the best possible job or even the right job for the size of your opening. It may not seem like it now but my intentions were always to help you and I'm having a hard time knowing that good intentions don't always turn out as planned. Again I am sorry.
Please let me know what you'd like me to do and I wont let you down again or argue your decision.
Thank You,
Bill G[redacted]-Owner
