Complaint[redacted] stated via email 9/4/14 that roof repairs were done incorrectly and he promised a full refund of $185. He has failed to mail me the check.[redacted]'s associate spent between 15 and 20 minutes at my address on 7/22/14 at 3:00 to fix a leak at the vent pipe above and between the family room and hall bathroom at a cost of $185, which I paid the associate in person that day via personal check. A month later, the roof began leaking from the same location in the attic, this time staining the ceilings in the two rooms below. A second roofer assessed the problem, stating that the original repair by B & B Roofing of the Carolinas had been done incorrectly, with such copious amounts of caulk applied (rather than addressing the underlying cause of the leak) that rain water was now being pushed up under the shingles and causing an even bigger problem than we had to begin with.I emailed [redacted] on 9/4/14 informing him of all this and requesting a refund. He agreed that is likely that the incorrect repair job had been performed as described, and promised to send a full refund of the $185. He stated, "Of course, it is not even a question. I will reimburse you for our services."He promised to send the check again on 9/24, 9/30, 10/8 and 10/13, all via email. He asked for my mailing address multiple times and I provided it each time. In his last email he promised, "I have the check to put in the mail today." As of this date (10/31) we have still not received the check from him.Desired SettlementI would like B & B Roofing of the Carolinas to mail a check for $185.00 made out to me and sent to my address now.Business Response [redacted] contacted the Revdex.com and said he would contact the consumer and process a refundConsumer Response Despite his assurance to you on 1/26/15 that he would contact me and send the refund check he promised, Mr. [redacted] has done neither. Would you please note this in the Complaint? Otherwise it appears as though he has followed through on his word when he has not, and other consumers may fall victim to this business' practices. It seems to me the case should be closed satisfactorily when the refund is received, not when the business promises to send it, otherwise I am not sure what the purpose is of the Complaint process. Would you shed light on this for me?Thank you,[redacted]Final Business Response I have previously stated that I would return the full amount charged for the repair. They are trustworthy, very dependable, with very reasonable charges. They have been in the area a long time and are reputable. I have already recommended them to several neighbors. Hire them. Work was performed and finished after 2 days by[redacted] for B & B Roofing, Inc., in late November. No payment has been received.Exterior wood rot repair work was estimated by[redacted] on a home that B & B Roofing was to replace the roof on. Written estimate #[redacted] dated 11/19/13 for the amount of $1820 was provided to B&B Roofing. B&B Roofing scheduled[redacted] to perform work on 12/3/13 and work was finished on 12/4/13. There were $380 worth of extra work performed by[redacted] in that same time period, which was also agreed upon during the work time. Written invoice #[redacted] dated 12/4/13 was provided to B&B Roofing.[redacted] gave B&B Roofing over 1 month before starting to ask about $2200 payment. As of 1/28/14 no payment has been received even though there have been multiple promises by B&B Roofing to make payment. Multiple appointments have been scheduled by B&B Roofing to meet to make payment but no follow through has been done with[redacted].Desired SettlementPayment in full, as promised, $2200.Business Response At the time he was doing this project for us. Our company was removing a shingle roof and installing new skylights and a flat roof for him. He owed us $2, 800.00 of which he has made a partial payment at this time 2 1/2 months later. I have contacted him by text, and email, my wife spoke with him. We have agreed to send him a partial payment in the same manner that he paid our invoive. We have agreed to settle this over the next two weeks. If you have any questions, please contact me.Final Consumer Response This response from B&B Roofing to my initial complaint is misleading and with facts made unclear, which confuses the main cause for this complaint. But to respond to this "other" job B&B refers to where they worked for [redacted]: partial work was done, [redacted] got a progress invoice for partial work, B&B was paid in less than 2 weeks after agreed upon partial work complete. No other invoice was received. In fact, B&B offered as an olive branch to rescind it due to all this hassle for the late Nov. 2013 job still not paid for - the only reason for this complaint. Last night B&B offered via email to make payments. This was in response to a [redacted] email suggesting this idea after 3 weeks of no communication from B&B. Their promise of full payment within 2 weeks is dubious at best.Consumer Response I wish this info to be appended to my complaint against B&B Roofing, Inc., from Holly Springs, NC. To date, no response has been received from B&B to pay his $2200 to [redacted] Construction. Even though [redacted] offered to allow a payment plan, and, B&B agreed via email in late Feb. of this year to break payments into thirds, no check has been received nor any effort by them to follow up with [redacted] to find resolution. I would definitely not recommend this company.
