Review: My husband and I contracted with this business on Oct. 9 2014 for snowplowing, at which time we paid in full (375$)! Contract states: "driveway to be plowed following approximate snowfall of 2 to 3 inches". We also let him know that it was important to have the driveway plowed because we have an 81 yr. old living on the property and driveway needs to be open in case of emergency, and my husband needs to be able to get out by around 7 am to go to work. During the November storm he plowed at 3 am when it was still snowing and was upset because he had to come back after it snowed another 4 inches. Today, there is 5 inches+ in my driveway, and I called at 1130 am to find out when he would be here to plow. The call went to msg. and I got no call back. At 110pm I sent a text with a picture of 5 inches of snow on a ruler, and still no response. Again texted at 208pm, and again no response, and when I called at 240pm the voicemail msg stated that the mailbox was full!Desired Settlement: I just want this business to honor the contract we entered into for snowplowing. I don't want to hear him complain about having to come more than once to plow. I also would like an explanatory call in the future if he cannot show up to fulfill his responsibility. If he cannot fulfill his duties, I want a FULL-REFUND (375$) of my money so I can find another available, responsible plow service who isn't already fully booked up. And I will probably now have to pay a premium to find service.

Response:

In regards to complaint dated 12/11/14 ID 10343120. An explanation of the service was explained to [redacted] when I met with him in early October, all driveways are plowed by 7:00 am 80% to 90% depending on the year. Sometimes when the snow does not fall until the early morning hours as was the case on there was about an inch of snow in the driveways until about 5:00 am when it started snowing heavy. At 7:00 to 8:00 am all driveways needed to be plowed when this happens being the street are not plowed either I assume people have gotten out and the goal is to have the driveway plowed before they return in the evening. Also because of rush hour traffic and general slow driving conditions on the roads this slows down the process of getting plowing down in timely matter. The driveway was plowed around 5:00 pm on 12/11 sorry for the delay. The battery on my cell phone went dead on 12/11 otherwise I always answer the phone. As far as the November storm goes it was plowed around 3:00 am which was the approximate time I told [redacted] I would be in that area normally I have no problem coming back for a second plow simply stated to caller that it was plowed earlier and was working my back through the route and would be there shortly. [redacted] was never asked to pay the full amount of the contract up front although I have plenty of customers who do it is their choice. The contract states payment in thirds one down second in January and balance in March I have always done this way to help new customers feel comfortable. Sometimes the season can start out a little rough and new customers might not be totally satisfied I will work as hard as I can to improve the service for the balance of the season. Regards, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I do not believe his cell phone battery was dead...HIS VOICE MAIL was full because he wasn't answering his calls. And now this morning, Friday Jan 9, we had another 4 inches of snow overnight. It stopped snowing at 7 am...it is now 10 AM and MY HUSBAND IS OUT SHOVELING THE DRIVEWAY SO I CAN GET OUT TO GO TO THE DOCTORS! Please, I suppose he is going to say his cell phone battery died again. I really do not understand this situation. AND, AS FAR AS ME PAYING IN FULL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, I DID THAT TO INSURE GOOD SERVICE...WHICH I AM NOT GETTING. Regards,
