B.C. Plumbing's Response: B.C. Plumbing strongly disagrees with these accusations. B.C. did plumb thehouse located at [redacted], completed April of 2014. We plumbedthe house with a 4" sewer drain. There is a 3" stack in basement picking up 3 bathrooms upstairs,...

whichis up to code and sized according to the UPC code book, which we follow. Any change of upsizlngdoesn't always work with the engineering of the system.The reason for the pipe "burst" was because of a line blockage that occurred, and they had a draincleaning company come out and they ran a snake down the pipe from upstairs and they broke one ofthe fitting connections on the sewer line which then flooded the basement. B.C. did not flood thebasement, the drain cleaning company did, he was also the one who told her it was not sized properly,which was false. This all happened over Thanksgiving Holiday weekend when our shop was closed forthe Holiday. We immediately called them first thing Monday morning when we returned back to workthat Monday. We spoke to [redacted] her husband and he said "It was all taken care of andthey were not in need of our services." No word of being dissatisfied. The only time she calls is afterbusiness hours or during lunch hour when our office is closed.We did come out and look at her shower pan {at no expense) to see what exactly is leaking and wefound nothing leaking In the plumbing system, nothing installed improperly, but what we found was adefect, hole in the shower base that they purchased, not our plumbing work IWe have followed up with them and returned calls immediately when we return back to the office, asour office and shop is not a run at home business.She called one day and said she had water coming from under her kitchen cabinet and leakingeverywhere, we Immediately sent our two journeyman plumbers who had plumbed the house up there{Portland) as we are located In Mt. Angel, and what they found was no plumbing leak, but what she wasdoing was flooding her counter top with water and It was running down between the backsplash andcounter and down into the cabinet space, again not us. My guys could see there was no caulking to thebacksplash to the counter and that was where the water was coming from. So B.C. Plumbing caulkedthe backsplash for her and explained she can't be doing that. B.C. plumbing did not install thebacksplash and It is not the plumbers responsibility to caulk her counter top, the guys installing themshould have done it, so I felt like I had to charge her for a service call because there was no plumbingleak and the caulking of the counter tops and backsplash was not our deal or part of the plumbing, butwas the person who did this work for them. B.C. Plumbing does not do shotty work; It's just a case ofunfortunate occurrences.B.C. Plumbing Installed the plumbing In 2013·2014, completed April 2014, and they just now are havingproblems with sewage blockage, tells me they probably flushed something down the toilet and It
created the blockage. An average toilet only has a line carry of 20' and If that toilet only gets flushedonly once then that line carry gets hard and creates a blockage, this is why a 3" pipe is needed by code;it will create a longer line carry. Their upstairs bathrooms are only for guests when they visit (Holidays)and if those bathrooms are not used it can create problems.We are not hiding behind no answering machine; we have been in business for over 40 years. Again, B.C. Plumbing STRONGLY disagrees with the statements made by [redacted]. We couldrespond again to each of her statements, but feel this would only continue on and on with he said shesaid, as we COMPLETELY disagree with her. B.C. Plumbing, plumbed her house according to the OregonState Plumbing codes, PASSING all inspections.B.C. Plumbing and its Employees stand by the work we do. As we said before we have been in Businessfor over 40 years.Mrs. [redacted] spoke to the Owner of B.C. Plumbing on January 12. 2016 requesting the refund of thecheck she issued for a service call back in December of 2014. The check was Issued on January 22, 2016(check #[redacted]). The check was in the amount of$ 165.00 not$ 186.00 as that was the amount she paidfor the service call (a call that had NOTHING to do with the work B.C.
