To whom it may concern,                                  In reading this complain it is clear that this client was given a consultation at the...

beginning of her appointment regarding what was previously put on her hair which is where she would’ve heard the term as she explained “box color” as that is professional terminology used during a consultation.  With this being said the stylist did proceed with the service as she has 100’s of times before all while watching the chemical process as to prevent any damage to the client’s hair. After the color and cut were completed her hair was then dried and styled with no evidence of damaged or as she stated “fried hair”. If any damage especially to the degree she is claiming would’ve occurred it would clearly have been evident at this point. Furthermore after the service was completed and the young lady checked out, her service was $185.oo and she tipped the stylist $28.58 which would indicate to me that she was pleased with her hair. At this point she was advised to purchase a professional take home product specifically designed for chemically treated hair which she did not, and to not be rough on it for a few days following the chemical process. Now it is not the responsibility of this or any salon for what a person does to their hair or uses on their hair after they leave the salon if they don’t follow the recommendations that we give them. To address the subject of slander and or the claim of being escorted off the property, which we did discuss.  When we offered to look at her hair and to do free conditioning treatments to help remove anything she used on it after leaving the salon she stated that she only wanted her money back and she did not want any treatments we could offer her. She was told that this was all we could offer since we do not offer refunds on services performed as discussed, agreed upon, and accepted by the client, she then stated that she would go on social media to slander our salon. We told her that if she were to do that we would take it up with our attorney. She also stated that she would be off work on Wednesday December 14th and would be in to get a refund or she would create a seen for our clients and employees. That is when we told her that if she chose to do that then she would be escorted by the police from the property. To end I would like to state that this is not a high end salon as we are located in Whitehall WV we are simply a family owned salon in a small town that strives to accommodate our clients with the services we provide. The pictures this young lady has provided are very misleading since she came in with one length hair and received a cut with layers and bangs as she asked for which gives the hair a look with different lengths throughout. The picture with a clump of hair in her hand simply looks like she cleaned her hair brush out after a while of use. This complaint is groundless and in my opinion a simple case of someone wanting something for nothing.                                                                                                                                                 Business Owner

To whom it may concern, On Friday June 10th 2016 this client came in for her appointment when she left she loved her hair. Then after she left the salon 2 days later she apparently washed her hair but ironically she did not fully divulge the products that she used on her hair which was [redacted]...

[redacted] shampoo.  We always recommend that our clients buy the [redacted] shampoo and conditioner that corresponds with their hair like for hers was the color treated for example, if she chose not to use it then we have no control over what other products may do to her hair. There are several things that can impact hair color after you leave the salon that we have no control over such as hard water, very hot water, chlorine in swimming pools, the sun, the shampoo and conditioner you use, etc. We tell people if they call and say that they have gotten their hair colored to dark from somewhere else that before they come in for us to fix it that they should use head and shoulders on it a couple times to strip that dark color out. Even with that being said we told her that she should come back next week, which was only a day away since she contacted us back on Sunday and that we would put another shine on it which would’ve made it back to what it was when she first got it done and was so happy. Why she chose not to do that I am not sure but all we could do was offer. We could not give her a refund because she received what she paid for and the bottom line is we have no control over what happens to her hair after she leaves the salon and uses different products on it than what we recommend. I have attached a photo of what her hair looked like when she left the salon and a photo of what she put on social media after she got it done showing how pretty it was. Also I attached a copy of the conversation where she says she used [redacted] on it and then we said we will have to put another shine on it since the head and shoulders washed it out. The owner of the salon also owns and runs a cosmetology school, she has over 30 years of experience and she teaches that you should never use an antidandruff product on color treated hair especially recently colored hair.
