I feel nothing else can be done, we've answered in good faith and worked to assist in resolving thisI quickly supplied our insurance info and they have interviewed our clientThe settlement is based on their investigation and the contract we each signed

I am rejecting this response because: BD Movers is "misremembering" since I never said there were boxes missing. What I did say was that all of my lladro boxes were missing as well as some expensive stemware. Why would anyone take these boxes he asks.....because the boxes which are missing had the contents listed on the outside of the boxes. The boxes were marked with BD movers numbers on them, and these numbered boxes never made it to my new home in **

I am well aware of this complaint, at first it was a hundred boxes missing plus many other items. We had inventoried every thing we took into our warehouse and the client had chosen 60 cents a lb liability coverage. The client did her own packing.  When she first said she...

was missing items, we went through every vault in our warehouse to make sure we had not mistakenly put any of her items in an unmarked vault or with someone else's items. Over a 100 vaults and 2 days of 2 men looking, nothing was found.  The client has filed an insurance claim and by her chosen coverage, would be covered for about $30, I'm not sure because she has not completed or accepted their offer. We interviewed all the employees involved with the move. I believe we did not steal anything. To accomplish what we are accused of, movers would have had to randomly go through many boxes looking for items to take. It is unlikely these figurines would have any value to movers. The boxes we delivered were sealed and full.  We have taken many calls and have spent many hours trying to solve this complaint. The main issue comes down to her saying its missing yet every box was delivered and in good condition. We have no idea of the contents in any box packed by our customers. We can only substantiate a boxes inventory if we do the packing. Although I think she is sincere, I believe she is mis-remembering what she kept or had packed. [redacted]

[redacted] is right, I am mis-remembering her complaint. I had a customer with a similar name years ago.

Mrs [redacted] and her husband met me for our estimate in [redacted], they are were very nice and even had a lunch for me.
I believe they are sincere in their complaint, unfortunately, the coverage was 60 cents a pound on her shipment.  This never seems fair if there is a claim. If the full replacement option had been taken on this shipment, the claim settlement would be very different.

I still believe my employees did not take anything.

We allowed the insurance company to decide fair coverage based on the contract.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  If contents from your original move does not arrive at your destination, I feel there should be a good faith settlement regardless of the 60 cents per lb loss/damage.  Since the boxes left [redacted] (original move) and were registered with numbers from BD Movers, and these numbered boxes never arrived at final destination, shouldn't there be some accountability?  Someone took the boxes.  Yes, owner is correct, I am an honest person who feels very violated.  I trusted this company and even asked for the same young men who moved me from ** to continue the job in **.  I had such faith in them and was so happy with the 2 moves until of course I unpacked and found my things missing.  There certainly was a mis-connect on their part, and I don't feel I am being properly compensated.  $30 dollars that I am being offered from BD Movers insurance is totally insulting.

Review: In May 2014, I contracted with BD Movers to move furniture and boxes from my home on [redacted], into their storage unit in **, and then to my new home in ** 3 weeks later. All items and boxes were numbered. On moving day my items were delivered, and at the time, all furniture was in place. Next day when I was unpacking boxes, I found 10 boxes missing. In these 10 boxes were my Lladro statues and stemware. Of course, these were my best items....memories from trips, special events and inheritance. Other boxes with household items, etc. were delivered. Through phone call and emails was told that no one would have taken my items. However, somewhere between the first move to the storage unit and the second move to my new home. these items were missing. Someone had to have stolen these boxes. BD Movers sent me a claim form where, after researching on line for values of my items, I put in a claim for over $2,000. Since I only took out minimal insurance for loss and damage, the insurance company told me I would only get $30. Insulting settlement to say the least. When I signed off on minimal insurance, I certainly did not take into consideration that things would be stolen and never arrive at my home.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a good faith settlement on this claim
