B. Forman Company Incorporated Reviews (2)

Review: have two issues with way this company handles itself based on an unpleasant experience with them from April - July 2011. First, the designs they showed me were not responsive to my stated needs and when I pushed them to respond to my design needs they were ill-humored and reluctant and the designs were pedestrian. They were difficult to make appointments with and it was hard to get them to explain their processes. As a result, it became clear fairly quickly that I could not work with such deficits, I terminated the relationship . Unfortunately, I paid them a $3,500 deposit against future services. This they in no way earned since I have nothing to show for the relationship except wasted time -- they kept their computer-generated drawings and, in any event, I did not like these drawings. My second issue is with their failure to present their contract in a transparent manner. As they were leaving my house in a hurry, they asked me to make a down payment and sign what I thought at the time was a simple invoice. It was only later that I realized I had just signed a full-blown design contract relating to their services which I had not been alerted to or given an opportunity to review. After terminating the relationship, I reviewed the contract with a litigation lawyer but it was so one-sided and favorable to the business that I made the decision not to take the matter to arbitration. This is not a contract that any consumer should sign, let alone without being told they are signing it. I have since entered into other contracts with design and other professionals. These people made certain I saw the contract ahead of time and was given a chance to review it.Desired Settlement: I have twice tried to settle this matter by asking for a refund of the deposit. Initially, I would have accepted a refund minus a reasonable sum for the work done; now, given the additional time and energy I have had to expend on the matter, including consultation with a lawyer, I would like a full refund of the deposit, which will not make me whole but will wipe the slate clean. Secondly, my opinion of their lack of design skills and professional courtesy may be subjective, but I would certainly like the Revdex.com and other consumers to be put on notice about this one-sided contract and the company's lack of transparency regarding it.
