B & H Auto Repair and Towing

Just when I thought an honest Mechanic was a thing of the past, I found B & H Auto. From the moment I walked through the door I felt that [redacted] was the mechanic for all us working class, blue collar working stiffs.
I had a blown head gasket, and like a fool I nursed it back and forth to work because I couldn't afford the repairs at the time. Yes, I did more damage in the process and in the end I destroyed both heads. I went to several other shops and B & H was by far the cheapest quote. [redacted] explained what was wrong,why it happened, and exactly how much it would cost to get the vehicle to a condition where he could guarantee the work. While the work was being done they discovered the radiator also had to be replaced and an injector had failed, yet he only charged the cost of the radiator, no additional labor, and he even had the work done quicker than expected.
This level of service is unheard of in the Automotive Repair Industry. I don't normally write reviews but it would be a public injustice if I didn't spread the word to everyone out there that there actually is an honest mechanic out there. I will forever be his customer...you should too.

I have been taking all 4 of my vehicles here for more then 3 years now and always leave feeling I got a good deal considering the circumstances.

I couldn't say enough about how this company has helped me. I had to have my car towed to phx downtown. And then after getting my car fixed another thing went wrong, I bought the part called them up he said sure bring it in.

Then I asked how much would it be to have it put on he replies nothing it's only 4 screws. That was awesome, and when I got there he took the part off and told me it looks like it's just dirty and asked me how much I paid for the part, 90 bucks so he said I can clean this one and see if that fixes it then I could take the part back and pocket the money,

It fixed it (yeahhh). But he said if it doesn't work bring it back and he would put the part in for free. I have been trying to find a good shop to get my car worked on. And I found one that I trust. And he didn't try to get me to buy or get alot of things done to my car either, so if you are a woman who needs car repairs done go here he won't take you for all your money,

I am from GA and didn't know of a good shop to take my car to other than Sunland auto and man they will Rob you blind never go there. I checked around after I had got the work done it cost me 900 bucks for a starter for my car and the part was 80 bucks and it was easy to get to. Now I have a honest place to go to.

They completed the repair in a timely manner and my bill was 30 dollars less than my quote. Never had that experience before. Will definitely recommend them to anyone needing a car repair shop that is trustworthy. A+!!!!

Review: I CALLED THIS CVOMPANY WHEN I BROKE DOWN IN SCOTTSDALE, AND AT THAT TIME ASK THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE WHAT THE COST WAS FOR FREEZ PLUGS TO BE REPLACED AND TO HAVE BRASS PLUGS INSTALLED (4 OF THEM) , AT THAT TIME THE MAN TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $300.00....I CALLED MY TOW COMPANY (ROAD SIDE SERVICE) AND HAD MY 88 JEEP TOWED TO THEIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE I BLEW OUT ONE OF MY PLUGS, AND MY HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN ALSO...WELL ONCE MY VEHICLE WAS THERE, THE ONLY THING I HAD AGREED TO WAS THE FREEZ PLUGS, BUT THEY TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO REPLACE THE HEAD GASKET AS WELL, THEN CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $900.00. WE NEGOTIATED TO A REASONABLE PRICE OF $700.00 FOR THE NEW PLUGS AND HEAD GASKET....WHEN I WENT THERE TO GET MY JEEP, THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WORSE THEN WHEN BEFORE I HAD THEM DO THE REPAIRS...THEY ADJUSTED A FEW THINGS AND WHILE DOING SO I NOTICED THEY DID NOT PUT MY JEEP BACK TOGWETHER AS WHEN IT CAME IN ( HOSES WERE NOT REATTACHED, THEY BROKE THE ACCELORATOR CABLE BRACKET, AND THEY NEVER REPLACED THE FREEZ PLUGS WITH NEW ONES, THEY ONLY REPLACED 2 OF THEM NOT ALL 4 AS AGREED UPON...I TOOK IT BACK 3 DAYS LATER PER THEIR REQUEST, AND UPON MY ARRIVAL THEY TOOK MY JEEP AND SAID IT WOULD BE READY BY CLOSE...I RETURNED AT 5 PM ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY COULDNT GET TO IT THEN AND I WOULD Have to leave it for an undisclosed amount of time before they could get to it...I told them I would just take it home ( 3 miles from their shop) and let it be parked and when they could get it done to call me...this never happened...I called the owner who was a very angry and condescending person, who basically was a complete smart mouth to me and said he wasn't going to honor his work as stated previously...my wife then contacted him via text message and ask him what it was we paid for ?? $700.00 and they didn't even do the job they were hired to do, and yet broke some other parts, and did not put the truck in any sort of working condition..at this point the truck was unsafe to drive on the road way...they came 2 days ago and towed the jeep to their shop at the request of my wife, and at that time he did not say anything about any charges for towing or to honor the guarantee... well at this point the truck was to be brought back today, and earlier in the day I went to the shop and the owner then expressed that he was going to keep my jeep because we owed him big in order to get our jeep back, it would be $489.00, when this was clearly a warranty and an issue that the job we hired them to do to begin with was never completed per the agreement.....when I told the owner this he became irate and called the police, telling them lies, and refused to turn over my jeep to me unless I paid him money..I want my jeep back, and back with the new parts I initially hired them to replace...and I will not pay them a dime either to get my jeep back because the ARS states that no business can withhold your vehicle from you for monetary reasons... also may I add that the only person at this shop who has a mechanics license is the shop owner, and he now refuses to give me my vehicle he has it hid in one of his shop bays. I do have all text messages and several witnesses and other pictures and such as evidence...Desired Settlement: I want a complete refund but at this point I would also like them to do the job they were hired for, and I don't feel I should have to have gone thru all this mess, there for I want a complete repair and refund or I will be taking them to court.

Review: Pryor to April 18 2013 my 2004 Hyundai Sonata was towed to B&H Auto Repair and Towing, L L C and the description of repairs was "CAR CAME IN WITH BROKEN TIMING BELT. PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST AND FOUND NO COMPRESSION, W/CAM SHAFT REMOVED, BENT VALVES." "Replace TIMING BELT COMPONENT KIT W/WATER PUMP" "REPLACED ALL VALVES AND VALVE SEALS" Howard the owner gave me the valves that were removed from my engine. I John W. Whipple owner of 2004 Hyundai check all 24 valves with a precision indicator on a precision V Block (picture in my possession) NONE OF THE VALVES WERE BENT OR RUNNING OUT.I AM A RETIRED MACHINIST and have the ability to perform this test.Also my car Radiator was damaged by their shop Mechanic's as there was coolant residue covering the top of the engine and the top of the radiator leaked, IT BLEW OFF (It didn't leak nor was it damaged when the car was brought to their shop. I pointed the leak out to a shop mechanic. Howard said he would replace the radiator for $375.00 OUT OF MY POCKET. It was explained to Mr. [redacted] who is NOT a Automotive Tech. that valves need to be in Cylinder head to be checked correctly, also can he explain why wait 4 months to Complain, why would I give him all the Valves back to him if 12 intake Valves weren't bent, Exhaust Valves were replaced due to Neglect on Mr. [redacted]s part at which he authorized my himself. Also I found the cheapest way to get him back on the road, If he is this so called Machinest he would no Machine work is not cheap. I saved that ungrateful man over $984.00 in Labor charges because Im not trying to get rich. I firmly believe this customers is trying to get something for free, he has proven that by not answering any of my questions. His claim of $375.00 for a Radiator is false, I took a look at his service history and found a Estimate for $329.58... Im my line of work you can tend to read people and I felt Mr. [redacted] doesnt trust anyone thats why I took pictures of everything I found during repairs.In closing he wont see a Dime from me for that fact he is an absolute LIAR!!!! who waits 2 months after repairs to complain about a cracked Radiator at which is Plastic and Original with over 155000 miles, then waits another 2 months to go to Revdex.com to file complaint about Valves. I suggest he takes me to Court, Im ready!!! He authorized repairs that were explained in detail. Mr. [redacted] find a Hobby you have to much time on your hands. Funny about one thing my first response had a link to Interference Engines by Hyundai Corp and he stills puts up a fight. look at image piston and valve when belt breaks piston hits valve

A week or so after my car repairs were completed, I brought my car back to [redacted]'s shop to find out what was leaking from my car, I thought it was Power Steering Fluid as I just had the Power Steering unit replaced. the Mechanic said it was from the radiator. It wasn't leaking when I brought it in for repairs. I can't prove the damage was done in Harold's shop, so I will have to let it go. My figure on the cost of replacement from [redacted] was $375.00 plus or minus. so I will have to back peddle. When I paid for the repair's done on my car it read " Replaced 24 Bent Valves" In a letter written to Revdex.com [redacted] stated 12 were bent ....Note [redacted] changed his story, this is known as Forked Tongue commonly Known as LYING . [redacted] stated he gave me the 24 bent Valves that came from my car . I inspected all 24 valves, none of them were bent. they could have been lapped in or grind the face on a valve grinding machine. I can live with out being reimbursed, any way if [redacted] did reimbursed me that would mean he made a mistake which he did. [redacted] shot himself in the foot when he changed his story from 24 bent valves to 12 bent valves. If a Mechanic in [redacted]'s shop said the only or best way to check out a valve to see if they were bent, was to check them out in the Cylinder Head, that mechanic is dumb as a box of rocks.I want it noted here and now and in the years to come the 24 Valves were not Bent..... Owner of said above car ....
