I took my car into the [redacted] Jiffy Lube for a standard oil change on October 17th 2013. Their mechanic started the car & drove it into the service bay. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes the manager called me over and suggested that I change the air filter, which he was holding in his hands. I agreed and they continued with exchanging the filter and performing an oil change. When they attempted to start the car to test for leaks the car would not start. The manager looked over the car and checked for any obvious signs, but finally gave up and said he did not know what to do & that it was my problem. I noted that the air intake canister had debris remaining that should have been cleaned out when the filter was removed. Nonetheless, they charged me $92 for the oil and air filter change.

I had to have the car towed to a local mechanic who found that the mass air flow sensor (downstream from the filter) was clogged - caused by Jiffy Lube's changing the air filter. When I presented the $97 bill for the repair to Jiffy Lube they claimed it was not their fault (even though the car would not start immediately after they serviced it, and after they said they would pay for damages they caused) and refused to pay. Now I'm out the towing charge, the car repair and the rental car costs.
