This customer originally had their transmission rebuilt by the previous business at this locationWe were, at that point, not responsible for the state of disrepair the vehicle was sufferingHowever, in an attempt to resolve the customer's concern, we attempted a fix at no cost to the customer based on his complaintThe customer then returned with the same complaint, then stating it occurs when driving in the hillsWe then replaced the PCMThe customer then left without paying for the part or labor for the PCM, stating he would call in a payment if the problem was fixed to his satisfactionThe customer then returned with the same complaint, this time with the PCM we installed in his handHe had removed the PCM we installed from his vehicle himself and replace his old one without our knowledgeBy doing so, this customer has voided any and all warranty claims he may have been entitled toFurthermore, we discovered while working on the vehicle, the customer had various aftermarket modifications to his PCM including an electronic performance modification chip (Superchip) which would have originally voided the warranty anyway

As per the customer's latest response, the customer has effectively put in writing that he "proceeded to take the computer out" himselfWe will reiterate that, though the customer is within his right to do with his vehicle as he wishes, removing a part we install, whether in new, re-manufactured, or good-used condition, will void any claims to a warranty the customer feels he may have been entitled toFurthermore, we would like to restate that we are B&H Transmission and Auto Care, a new business entirely, of which the owners have no relation whatsoever to the owners of B&H Transmission, Incthe business which rebuilt the customer's transmission, a business which no longer existsWe began with no obligation to honor the customer's claim to a warrantyPer the *** *** ** *** ***, the agency which regulates our business, we are still within our right to rescind our offer to cover the customers warranty for any reasonPer our decision to cover the customer's warranty, we were, in fact, still prepared to follow through on our offer to split the cost of a "new" transmission with the owner of the now defunct B&H Transmission, Incif the computer replacement did not work, at no cost to the customerThe customer took this decision out of our hands when he removed the computer we installed from his vehicle, took his vehicle to another shop, and immediately threatened us with legal action to the effect of monetary compensation in the amount of the customer's rebuild with the B&H Transmission, IncIn summery, at no time before, or since our introduction to the customer were we, B&H Transmission and Auto Care, ever responsible for the cost of the customer's transmission rebuild, nor have we ever been obligated to honor the aforementioned warrantyHowever, prior to the customer's initial complaint with the Revdex.com and the threat of legal action, and his decision to remove the computer we installed, and take his vehicle to another shop, we were still prepared to cover the customer's warrantyThat warranty claim is now void, including any right to further parts or labor under said warranty, and any monetary compensation for parts or labor, especially considering that we, B&H Transmission and Auto Care, have never received any payment in any form from the customer for any goods or services rendered to the customer

I am rejecting this response because: I don't really know where to start other than saying that their statement is FAR from the truth. The very first conversation with the new owner the warranty issue came up. When asked about fixing my truck transmission the new owner said " we will cover the warranty." At the time that was quite a relief as it had already been a year since their shop had "rebuilt" my transmission and the problem with the 1-2 shift code error and hard shifting had never ben resolved.  My truck had been in their hands (actual shop time) for more than two months! My patience had finally worn out. [redacted] was changing part after part that supposedly had already been changed. Then came " I found a spike!" You need a new computer. I'll order one." Before I got home, once again, the same overdrive light and hard shifting started! I told [redacted] before I left the shop that I wouldn't pay for the computer if that did not fix the problem. If it works send the invoice and I will pay for it. I made it home with the flashing light and proceeded to take the computer out only to find that they were going to charge me over $400 for a computer out of a wrecking yard! The wrecking yard crayon writing was still on the part! So much for the "new" computer. Ten minutes max to pull the computer. As for the modified "superchip", that is totally bogus. It was a Banks chip which had been in the truck for over 100,000 miles and had been removed for all previous work to eliminate that as a source of any problems. Funny it wasn't mentioned at the beginning of the rebuild that a chip would void their warranty. They only bring that into the complaint to avoid taking responsibility for a totally incompetent rebuild job. They couldn't fix their problem so they started looking for anything to blame. I have since taken the truck to another shop and am in the process of getting it rebuilt the right way. That shop also verified the flashing light and shifting problem. Guess what? Its not the computer!
If Revdex.com would like any copies of the invoices, I would be happy to supply them along with notes I have taken on my IPhone. I even have videos on my phone of the flashing overdrive lamp and of the odometer showing some of the mileage the truck went between codes. Most times the truck wouldn't make it home (34 miles) before the light started flashing and throwing a code.
I forgot to mention that [redacted] told me that he was going to replace the transmission if the computer didn't work. He said "I have already talked to [redacted] and [redacted] said " he would split the cost of a new transmission."  I guess that was forgotten.      John 3:16    What exactly does that mean on their business card?

Review: This outfit "rebuilt" my transmission in July of 2013.It is now 1 year and 2 months later and my truck has been out of service 90% of this time. The original problem still exists. After the rebuild it has been "fixed" numerous times. Every time a different part and story. Promised new transmission after the last part didn't fix the truck. (turned out to be recycled computer, not new as told). The dealer said he would call. A week later and still have not heard from him. Called B&H and told them I Took truck to another dealer and they verified the problem that hadn't been fixed. Told them to put in new transmission. It will cost me another $3000 to get another transmission to replace the "rebuild" B&H put in my truck.Desired Settlement: Paid cash for the rebuild. I want $3497.61 returned. That is the amount I paid for the rebuild.

As per the customer's latest response, the customer has effectively put in writing that he "proceeded to take the computer out" himself. We will reiterate that, though the customer is within his right to do with his vehicle as he wishes, removing a part we install, whether in new, re-manufactured, or good-used condition, will void any claims to a warranty the customer feels he may have been entitled to. Furthermore, we would like to restate that we are B&H Transmission and Auto Care, a new business entirely, of which the owners have no relation whatsoever to the owners of B&H Transmission, Inc. the business which rebuilt the customer's transmission, a business which no longer exists. We began with no obligation to honor the customer's claim to a warranty. Per the [redacted], the agency which regulates our business, we are still within our right to rescind our offer to cover the customers warranty for any reason. Per our decision to cover the customer's warranty, we were, in fact, still prepared to follow through on our offer to split the cost of a "new" transmission with the owner of the now defunct B&H Transmission, Inc. if the computer replacement did not work, at no cost to the customer. The customer took this decision out of our hands when he removed the computer we installed from his vehicle, took his vehicle to another shop, and immediately threatened us with legal action to the effect of monetary compensation in the amount of the customer's rebuild with the B&H Transmission, Inc. In summery, at no time before, or since our introduction to the customer were we, B&H Transmission and Auto Care, ever responsible for the cost of the customer's transmission rebuild, nor have we ever been obligated to honor the aforementioned warranty. However, prior to the customer's initial complaint with the Revdex.com and the threat of legal action, and his decision to remove the computer we installed, and take his vehicle to another shop, we were still prepared to cover the customer's warranty. That warranty claim is now void, including any right to further parts or labor under said warranty, and any monetary compensation for parts or labor, especially considering that we, B&H Transmission and Auto Care, have never received any payment in any form from the customer for any goods or services rendered to the customer.
