B Jar Construction

Review: We had a custom home built in 2007. B Jar Construction did the concrete work for the house at $24,951.00. He also did the synthetic stucco which was more expensive than the regular stucco. This was supposed to be a better quality and hold up better. The cost was at $28,716.43. He also did the Cultured stone at $1,600.00. The block wall, driveway and steps for $5,521.00 which totaled to $59,188.43. We had problems with the stucco into the start of the third year. He came down and said it was normal settling. I didn't feel this was correct. I did mention that our pad was inspected and passed so that we would not have cracking issue. We are having major cracking and we are having large areas throughout the home coming off. All over the entire home there is cracking and pieces disintegrating. We contacted him again in early September that it was much worse and that it wasn't normal settling. I felt the stucco job was poorly done. I had two different companies come out and stated that this was definitley not normal settling. This stucco job was done poorly and the brown coat was done too thin as well as the final stucco. [redacted] had said he would do the repair work for $1000.00. I didn't feel this was right. We had already paid him quite a bit of money. He said he would start in October 2014. We called and he was finishing a job, but would start soon. He never came. We called him several times and no response. We will now have to hire another company to come and do the repair work because of winter coming on I know this stucco situation will continue to get worse.Desired Settlement: I feel that [redacted] should redo the stucco on the entire home because of the brown coat being too thin under the stucco being too thin and just literally disintegrating. I feel we will continue to have problems going forward. Or we can hire a company to to do the entire stucco and he can pay that company. This is a custom home that was very expensive to build and I don't want it to fall apart from the outside in. We have been more than patient in him trying to get this done correctly
