B. Kawa Construction

Review: Contracted with B. Kawa Construction to remodel basement and company has failed to complete construction. Contractor does not answer repeated phone and text messages on status of completing the project and has not been to the location in over three weeks. The Contract was initiated almost 5 months from this date and is only 80% from completion and 90% of the contracted cost has already been paid. At the begining of the contract the construction company stated it would be done in three-weeks.

Review: paid for repairs and cement pad. Problems with work completion and quality of job done. Phone contact numbers not working.

I had a roof repair done, [redacted] received an extra five hundred dollars and was suppose to reinstall the ice melt wires which were previously on the roof and fix the stairway to the deck of my home. The wires were left hanging and during the winter caused an iceflow off the roof. The steps have started to show give and instability towards the top of staircase. I also paid $1,700 to have a cement pad put in. Framing was done but nothing beyond that.

Mr. [redacted] has avoided making contact. Appointments have been ignored. He claims hardship yet has vacation time with his family.

He has said he would repay the $1,700, but has made no effort to do so.

He has a business license through Riverdale City, but phone contacts aren't possible: residence phone number was reassigned & Business number states he is not accepting calls.

Desired Settlement: I would like the wires for the ice melt taken care of so as not to invalidate the warrantee that is suppose to be in place on the roof replacement. I want the money paid for the cement pad refunded as he has shown a resistance to doing the job and lack of desire to do the work. I was willing to work with him towards repayment but he has ignored times he said he would come to assess the roof/ wire situation ( [redacted] received Five hundred dollars above the cost of the roof repair and stated he would take care of stairs off the deck, I voiced a concern about the ice melt wiring and a verbal agreement was given so he would not have to refund the five hundred dollar excess.0 I want refund of moneys paid for the cement pad which he has avoided installing.
