B & L Maytag, Inc.

I purchased an Ashley sofa from B&L Furniture,it was delivered on Sept.29th,2012. After finding issues with wood trim and upholstery(about 20 minutes after the sofa had been delivered)called the store and talked with [redacted],the salesman. He told me they might be able to get someone to look at the sofa that day which turned into the next Sat. which turned into the next Sat. after he said that the person that did that would be on vacation and couldn't come.I told him to note I had called about the problems with the sofa and let them know about my concerns right away.Soon afterward I noticed when I sat on the sofa it creaked like wood buckling or rubbing together, coming from the left back of the sofa near the corner where the arm is.A few days after same sound was also coming from the right side of the sofa when I sat down or moved.Nobody has sat on sofa but me and I'm not obese.Went into the store on Oct.10th and told both [redacted],and [redacted], I was still having problems,and about the creaking noises. They assured me that someone would be out Sat. to look at the sofa and they might have to order a new one.After thinking about that I called on the 11th and talked to [redacted],told him I wanted to return the sofa because it was a new sofa and if they ordered another sofa it would likely have the same problems. He said he would tell the owner when he got there and have him call me. [redacted] called me shortly after that and said there was strict 7 day return policy that was posted on the wall. I told him nobody had told me and asked if I could exchange sofa for another, he said no. He said you have animals in the house. I had one small kitten for a week that I didn't allow on the furniture.He said and I quote "someone would be out Sat.to look at the couch but as far as the return that wasn't going to happen." I looked store policies up on their website and no mention of 7 day return.The sofa that I had for 27 years did not creak and pop like this one.Have paid big down payment on sofa and want a refund.
