Review: On August **, 2014 I sent a $700.00 pair of Alden shell cordovan shoes along with a check (#[redacted]) in the amount of $160.00 to B.Nelson Shoe Corporation for resoling - a company that advertises itself as a premium shoe repair outfit. I was contacted the next week by phone by [redacted], [redacted] of B. Nelson Shoes and informed that the company's pricing had changed since their last website update. The service I requested was now $200.00. I paid by credit card and was informed that my shoes would receive premium service, be polished and returned within three weeks. Five weeks elapsed and my shoes came back unpolished, the leather gouged, scratched and scuffed and the new soles so thick that there was no flex in the food bed and, therefore, unusable.I contacted [redacted] to register my complaint and demand a full refund and he gave me a very practiced run-around about how I "was wasting his valuable time" and that I needed to e-mail photos of the damage. I did so and then he changed his story saying that I needed to send in the shoes. This I refused to do because of his arrogant, high-handed manner, his obtuseness and the fact that his craftsmen irreparably damaged the leather on a premium pair of shoes the first time out. Whatever trust I had in him and his company by now had been completely lost.I wish I had found his company reviews on [redacted] BEFORE I sent in my shoes. Nearly all the reviews about B. Nelson were negative and echoed my own experiences to the letter.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of $200.00, plus the cost of having B. Nelson's "workmanship" re-done by [redacted] which incurred an additional cost of $169.00; bringing the total refund to $369.00.
