Our company did perform the work described in Mr***’s complaint following a storm in 2013. The metal roof that was installed on Mr***’s house is installed per the manufacturer’s
recommendations and is ventilated in the same fashion as any other house of similar design and construction. To ensure Mr*** of a proper installation I had the roof inspected by the vendor as well as the manufacturer of the roofing material whose report will be submitted for this complaint if required.
Initially Mr*** complained of a roof leak when condensation was discovered inside the house, I inspected the home and informed Mr*** that the condensation was likely the result of a ventilation problem unique to his particular home that would have existed prior to the metal roofing being installed. Unfortunately the style of roof Mr*** requested exaggerated a preexisting issue with the home and it would be unethical for me to attempt to fix this at the expense of the insurance company, hence my statement to Mr*** that we would be willing to add additional ventilation to the home but it would be an out of pocket expense.
Our company has been working with local insurance companies for many years and when a property sustains insurable damage my job is to restore the property to its prior condition, as was done on this job. We are a reputable local company with no complaints and a stellar record with our customers and the local insurance companies with which we work, including Mr***’s company who recommended us to him. I would like to resolve this complaint and have made attempts to do so; unfortunately I will not attempt to defraud Mr***’s insurance company in an attempt to appease him%
