B & R Hospitality Reviews (1)
Thank you for your letter in regard to my complaint #[redacted] filed with your department.
To refresh your memory, I called the Monday after my daughter, my grand daughters, and I stayed at the
Quality Inn & Suites in Dublin, Ohio, on May 17th & May 18th, to inform Choice Hotels that my daughter and
grand daughter had received bed bug bites on their bodies. My other grand daughter and I did not have any
bites probably due to the fact that we slept in a different bed. We all washed everything that had been in that room, including clothes and suitcases, and discarded anything else we couldn't wash.
We checked your web site and found to our dismay that there were many complaints against this
establishment regarding among other things bed bug bites. The people who filed these complaints said they
had received no satisfaction from talking to Choice Hotels. I felt sure this could not be the case, and that as a gold member for many years, I would receive some sort of restitution for the suffering and extra work this caused my family, and more importantly, stop this place from accepting guests until they have "cleaned up" their act.
I called Choice Hotels, received a case number, and was told to await a call within 72 hours. In 72 hours I
received a call from the Quality Inn manager who said I had to be mistaken because they sprayed every
month, asked me which bed I slept in - promptly stating that they had never seen any bed bugs in the other
bed - and finally after I became agitated, he said if I would come and get it, he would give me "50 bucks". If
I had been that close I wouldn't have needed a motel in the first place!
After saying "no" - I only wanted my points back, I called Choice Hotels again, who kept saying it was up to the hotel manager to make restitution! She said they can't possibly police every motel especially since they
are getting new ones every day. Really? What confidence that gives me in Choice Hotels management!
Do you even pay attention to the web site and the complaints that people are making?
Why do you even have a Customer Care Department when you obviously don't care?
After all these years of staying in choice Hotels, I cant believe you couldn't at least give me some of my
points back for help to ease the pain and suffering of my family and act like you are concerned. I would also
think you would be interested in the well being of other patrons who might be staying there in the future!
I am very disappointed in Choice Hotels - are you giving points away in order to keep inferior motels
booked ... no matter what the outcome of the patrons who stay there? I also wonder if I will ever be able to
stay in Choice Hotels again ... without wondering about bed bugs.
