B & R Plumbing Reviews (%countItem)

On June 4th 2019 called & explained that I had a growing leak in the ceiling of my downstairs bathroom at my home;(Sheetrock ceiling); I suspected it could be the water heater which is upstairs directly above this bathroom, as I have had that type of leak here, several years ago; Realized it may have been the upstairs air handler unit, as AC was on; He came out to assess upstairs water heater, & looked at ceiling, with a slowly enlarging water leak area; Told me he "WAS SURE" it was my A/C air handler and NOT A PLUMBING ISSUE; He DID NOT, however, even go into the already wet & very soft sheetrock ceiling to adequately assess for pipes, etc; He told me to call my Heating & Air Repairman; He charged me $120.00, which I paid before he left. The next day or so my HVAC repairman came, ruled out ANY HVAC issue, poked a small opening in the sheetrock of ceiling, and THERE WAS AN OBVIOUS CONTINUOUS LEAK IN THE WATERMAIN PIPE, leaking into the ceiling, of course! I called a DIFFERENT plumber, recommended by my HVAC guy; He came that day, fixed the leak, all for a reasonable fee. The B & R Plumber overcharged, even for a service call, but most importantly, MISDIAGNOSED the problem! Not a good customer experience at all, and I would def.question his ability &/or motivation to correctly assess a plumbing or leak situation. A totally ridiculous over charged amount, for an INCORRECT ASSESSMENT!

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment Most of all would like potential customers to be aware; Even good on-line ratings or reviews are not always true &/or consistent.

This customer called us saying she had a emergency and there was water pouring out of her ceiling. We quickly went over to her house, putting off another job we were on our way to, so we could at least cut off her water. When we arrived, there was a few drips coming out of her bathroom ceiling. We checked the water heater, which is above the bathroom, and there were no leaks. There was no main water line above her bathroom. To further diagnose the problem, we turned off the a/c unit and the drip stopped, turned the unit back on and the drip started again. After a few times turning it on and off,we figured out it had to be the pipes on the unit were stopped up. We also checked the outside pipe on the unit to see if it was draining, which it was not. We explained that it was not a plumbing problem and she needed service on her a/c unit. We also told her that we would come out and fix the problem for free if it did happen to be a leaking pipe. We heard nothing more until we read this complaint over a month later. We would have stood by our word and fixed it if she would have called us back. I believe we went above and beyond diagnosing the problem and putting off other jobs to help her. We would like to know exactly what the problem was and how it was fixed,as there was no main water line in her ceiling. She was upset about the service call amount to begin with,so we believe she is giving us a bad review due to the fact she wanted us to come out for free and tell her what was wrong. The customers we had to put off for more than an hour because of her were very understanding.

In response, there IS INDEED a waterline directly above the sheetrock, where water stain was, as pictures were taken by the HVAC Repairman, who actually came and cut a hole in the wet sheetrock, and we both watched the drip, drip, drip of water.. it was a coupling or fitting piece, or something of that nature that was replaced by the second plumber I contacted... he too, had the pictures of the problem, sent to his phone so he could go and purchase the probable piece(s) needed for repair; I certainly did not feel confident that a "FREE" return service call/repair would be in my best interest, as in, would most likely still not have had the problem assessed and fixed properly; I did not, at any point, state that "There was water pouring out of my ceiling." I said I could tell there was a water leak of some origin, and could see the wet area in the ceiling's sheetrock getting larger, but not an emergent situation; If there was a decision to forego other customers' a.m. appts., that was not suggested by me; that was his business decision. As for the $120.00 Service call, I do not mind at all paying a fee for services rendered; You should have cut into the wet, softened, pliable sheetrock and you would have seen the leak directly, and that IT WAS A PLUMBING ISSUE, simple as that. I NEVER expected a free service call, I find that rude & insulting; When I first questioned that amount, you said 2 things to me..."Well, I have alot of expensive tools on my truck", & "You should have asked me about my service call fee on the phone." I am just calling it as I see it, and as I experienced it, everyone can form their own opinion/conclusion. The leak was correctly assessed, diagnosed, and repaired by the second plumber; and I am leaving it at that.
