[redacted]. Please note that payment was due upon completion. At this time, BRS placed a pre-lien on the home. The total cost to flash the legs was $2,900.00. Approximately 30 days later, Mr. [redacted] advised me that he did not like the solar panels and would not be paying the solar company, He asked BRS Roofing to remove the legs. BRS advised him that it would cost him another $2,900.00 to remove the solar legs and re-foam his roof Mr. [redacted] let me know that house was up for sale and it was in escrow and asked that we have the new homeowner deal with this. I advised him that it was his responsibility to put the roof back in place due to the fact that BRS Roofing has a 10 year warranty on the roofs of this property. The President of the Board of Directors of his Homeowners Association, Kent Barnes, called BRS Roofing and advised BRS to put the roof back in place. Please keep in mind that this particular roof is considered a "common area." A homeowner is not allowed to alter the condition of this particular roof and if they do so, the homeowner is responsible for the cost that occurs during the alteration. BRS Roofing, Inc. is responsible for keeping these roofs in place for the duration of the warranty. When Mr. [redacted] decided that he did not want to pay BRS, the only recourse BRS had was to place a lien on this property. I advised him that since we had to remove the legs, I would give him a $500.00 break and he would owe BRS Roofing 55,400.00, however after going through our Lien Service Company, a $1,000.00 fee would be added to his bill. I do apologize for the confusion and inconvenience but the only course of action is to place a lien on the property when a customer refuses to pay. However, I can understand why Mr. [redacted] is upset. I hope this brings some clarity to the situation. Thank you, [redacted] President/CEO
