B-SAFE Driving Education Reviews (%countItem)

Absolutely horrible customer service. They force you to pay in full at the time of the classroom work, telling you and your child that they will not schedule the in car instruction until you pay in full. Then they will not return phone calls for MONTHS to schedule that in car driving after you have already paid. After delaying your child being able to get his/her license on time, they rush to get in the in car driving instruction right before their 6 month contract date expires (where they would have to refund you money) with no regard to working with you to schedule. They basically give you a schedule of when your child will drive with them and if you need to reschedule, it is MONTHS later, thus further delaying getting the license. This is absolutely horrible business practice, but it is the blatant disregard that they do anything wrong. Their customer service response is basically "Oh well, there's nothing we can do. We'll give you these times your student can drive right in the nick of time before we have to give you any money back and if they can't do it, oh well, they can wait another 3 months to drive with us. No fault of ours".

Thank you very much for allowing me to respond to the comments. I am sorry that she felt we were lax in our service. I truly am sorry if the customer service was not up to the expectations. We do try extremely hard to answer all calls, as long as a name and number are given for us to be able to return a call. Unfortunately many people only give their first name and we have know idea which student they are referring to. For a short simple explanation of driver's education. The State of Ohio allows all driving schools a full 6 months from the date they sign a contract to be completed. In our contract we allow 3 months for the final payment to be made. Giving us 3 months to schedule and complete a student. We really never want to have a student wait for that 6 months to be done and in our 18 years in business we have traditionally been able to get a student scheduled and finished in about 6 weeks from their final payment. We do require full payment before we can schedule, as being a small business, and with no outside or State financial help, we must have a cash flow in order to pay our employees, maintain the vehicles and provide all the services that are expected. This year was totally different for us. Being a small company, when you lose half of your staff to death and/or illness, this is totally devastating. We had to reschedule more than 300 drives during the summer months. These had been scheduled and due to the death and illness of our instructors, we needed to find a place for the students that were already paid and had been given dates. As a result we were put very far behind. I informed the State Director of our issue and as long as we were able to finish a student in the 6 months, we were fine as far as they are concerned. In order to find new instructor's and get them trained, it can be up to 4 to 5 months to be able to certify someone to become a driver training instructor. It is not a fast process, nor should it be. We have been successful in finding some fine people to begin the process and a couple that have already successfully been certified. This is not the type of review I want. We have in fact, worked very hard to build a reliable and responsible business. I apologize to Mrs. R and hope that she can possibly understand what we have been through this past year.

Being "fine" according to the state and taking care of your paying customers are two very different things. I paid in full in early JULY. My child is not scheduled to drive until DECEMBER. I called several times in August to schedule driving, leaving my full name, phone number, and child's name. I did not receive a response until late September, when I was GIVEN a driving schedule to follow, and told if my child couldn't do those, we could be pushed back another 3 months. I am in business as well, and understand things happen, but the cavalier attitude that "the state says we're fine because we are barely meeting a contract" is NOT a good business practice. The state is not a paying customer; I am. As a small business owner, who should depend heavily on favorable word of mouth endorsements, especially in a small town like Carlisle, not working diligently, above and beyond, to do the right thing for your customers is not only shameful, but also horrible for your business. I am assuming since the owner did not mention trying to make this right by scheduling my daughter for in car driving prior to her Nov. 18 birthday they will not be rectifying this situation?

I am very sorry that we have failed you. This was not our intent or our normal practice.
