I moved from baldwin to woodville as of march 1st 2013- I gave baldwin telecom the proper notice of my change in address and that I needed to transfer services to my new address, on march 1st I DID have telephone service but when I hooked up my computer and television I DID NOT have either cable or internet service.
there were no tracks in the snow around the side of the house I moved into by the cable connection box showing that anyone had been out to hook up my service- I only have access to baldwin telecom hours on thursdays because I was working 10 hour days at that time- 7 am to 5:30 pm. baldwin telecom business hours are later on thursdays- so I patiently waited for them to hook up my services- I tried to program my television for channels many times between march 1st and march 14th to no avail- I checked the cables to make sure they were hooked up to the outside jack ( which they were).
on thursday march 14th I stopped by baldwin telecom to pay my bill and to inquire why I did not have service yet, the woman at the desk typed in my information and told me it had been turned on on the first, I informed her that neither the cable or internet was working, so she typed in an outdoor service order to have things checked out for the following day friday the 15th.
I returned home on friday the 15th and turned on my tv and tried to program stations- the same thing I had been doing daily since the 1st- and it worked, my computer was also able to go onto the internet- so on the 14th- no service, on the 15th after a service call- I had service.
I waited until my bill arrived to see when they began charging me for service- there was no credit, I then went in to pay my bill on thursday the 18th and asked for a 2 week credit on my bill for services I did not receive - the woman behind the desk told me she did not have the ability to grant credits and that it would have to be investigated and that they would be in touch. I paid my bill minus 5 dollars and left .
I received my current bill today- april 29th and there was NO CREDIT issued towards my account for 2 weeks of cable and internet I did not receive.
I did not do anything different on the 15th that I did not do on the 14th- same cable connection - everything, the only difference is that I had service on the 15th and not on the 14th back dated to the 1st.
so someone at baldwin telecom did not do their job and make sure I had service until I complained about it and then no credit has been issued. I have been doing business with baldwin telecom for the past 12 years- but after seeing how they have handled this problem I wish I had other options than doing business with them but they kind of have a monopoly on cable tv services in this area.
