font-family: HelveticaNeue, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">this is a reply to complaint [redacted]
ive been in the pool installation business for 20 years. 16 of those years being in florida. where we installed just about year round. ive never had one complaint about installing a product that has a defect. I could give you numbers to call managers.where in fact I have notified them of a defect and went back to the store to get new product. it would be business to install a product that I knew had a defect. why would I do such a thing when the store is no more then 10 miles away. to insinuate that me or my crew knew there was a defect and just went ahead with the install. is totally false and borderline slander. if it was so clearly noticeable why wouldnt of you or your wife seen it and pointed it out after you both came out after the job was done. you both inspected are work and said it looked great. you did question the wrinkles. but as I explained to you. the ground was very wet. you asked us to save the old liner in one piece without cutting it. which in my 20 years of doing this I have never once did. you insisted for us to do it. I agreed to make you happy and didnt charge you anything. which made our job over a hour and a half longer. we had to take the pool apart and drag a liner with some water in it out of the pool. which was extremely heavy. while doing this water was let out on the ground. which caused the wrinkles in the bottom of the liner. we did all we could to get them out.sometimes liners have wrinkles. and in your case there were more due to the fact you wanted to keep your old liner and one piece. this is not what we are talking about tho. yes there was a defect in the liner. and yes we did come inspect it. you are saying you sat out on your porch all day long ? the day in question I personally was working the outside of the pool. I didnt install the liner. my 2 workers did. if they saw the defects they would of pointed it out to me. as they are trained to do so. we wouldnt put a defected liner in just to get the job done. because of safety and because thats not how we do things. when a liner is being installed. it needs to be unfolded and shifted and at times it moves around on the ground and dirt. which puts dirt marks on the liner.its very possible the guys saw the mark. but thought it was just a dirt mark. which happens all the time. when the pool fills with water they go away. it dissapoints me that you just flat out say we knew it was there and installed it anyways. ive had no complaints this summer and ive installed over 100 pools from the company you got the product from. in fact im highly regarded there. I nor they are the maker of the product. you should be taking this up with the maker of the liner. they will replace the product for you. but they dont cover installation fees or the cost of chemicals or water. this is not my fault. all I did was install the product. if the marks werent there and it was a bad seam. you would still want me to cover the installation. how fair is that to me? once again im not the maker of the product. I just installed it. regardless if you believe it was a perfect install. it was installed correct and it was holding water and you could swim in the pool.your fight should be with the liner company.I will not refund you $450. I installed the liner correct. also did extra work by taking the old liner out in one piece. and not charging you anything. just to show some good faith on my part. I will discount the new installation. its usually $450 dollars. I will do it at half price $275 dollars for you. im sorry it has been a bad experience.you have to also understand that we installed this awhile ago. you have still continued to use your pool and swim. the defect has not stopped you from swimming and you now have a new liner.
thanks

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First, if [redacted] had initially come to us, like a good business man would have, and made this offer we would have accepted it. However, he did not and instead said flat out to me "I will not cover anything, you will have to go to the pool company." [redacted] states that in 20 years he has not had a single complaint for a defect. That is great, as he must have reported defects to the owners when they were discovered during installation or, he miraculously never had a liner with a defect. I feel that his crew of about 3 + himself installed my liner knowing it had factory defects. I watched as the fellow that was in the pool actually installing the liner and stretching it over the sides and noted that he had to lift the liner up and over the side which in doing so put the part of the liner with the hole directly in his line of sight. I believe they ignored it because it was impossible to see without physically being in the pool and it is above the water line so the pool could still be used, BUT, what happens when that hole starts to tear? The second reason that I believe he knew about the defects is that he states he returned to check them out. I don't believe he did because we did not see him or anyone else and if he didn't know about the hole, how did he know where to look because as I said it was not visible until you were in the pool and I could not find it from the outside feeling for it with my hands. I do not consider this "borderline slander" as [redacted] states because it has been cold this summer and we really didn't use the pool except for the day that my wife went in and immediately saw the hole. She is not a professional, however [redacted] and his crew are supposed to be and they didn't see it????? As far as the brown spot, which looks like it's burned or been overheated, when we were out there looking at the job the guy that was in the pool for the install was standing over the spot so I did not see it and we didn't go near the pool for a few days until the weather warmed. This is why we said nothing about the defects till later when we did see them.
I DO understand that sometimes there will be some minor wrinkles in a liner installation, but, this liner has at least 20 prominent wrinkles some of which are large. Now I can buy the story of wet sand possibly causing problems ,but, I still think it could have been done better. Also, I thank [redacted] very much for removing the old liner in one piece, but, I simply asked if he could do it and he said, "oh, is your son going to make a pond"? and I said yes. and then he said OK, I'll do for you. It's not like he makes it sound. We did not INSIST that he do it, he could of just said NO and that would of been the end of it.
Therefore, as I stated previously, I will not accept this offer from [redacted] because he should have been the good business man that he is trying to profess he is now and done this in the beginning and not wait until I had to got to the Revdex.com to get action. I sincerely do not want to deal personally with him again and will only accept a refund so I can get someone else to do the install.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: During installation of a new pool liner in the box supplied by myself, the property owner, [redacted] & his crew from B&T Installations failed to inform me of manufacturers defects in the liner and halt installation process. If they had, I could have taken the liner back to the store and exchanged it for another. Also, the warranty & [redacted] state that there may be a few slight wrinkles in the liner after install. I have at least 8 large wrinkles and numerous smaller wrinkles. These constitute more than a few and greater than slight. [redacted] also told me that the wrinkles would work out as the pool filled when I questioned him at the end of the job. They did not.I believe and the manager of [redacted] also thinks that it would have been impossible for someone not to have seen these defects as the hole is almost at eye level while putting the liner over the side of the pool and the other is an approximately 3" diameter round mark on the bottom of the liner near the skimmer. This 3"diameter mark appears to be a burn mark. The hole is above the water line, but, also looks like a burn mark. I shouldn't have to be stuck paying for an inferior liner & installation of same when it could have easily have been prevented. The pool company has agreed to replace the liner free of charge and provide new chemicals at 50% discount. The pool company agreed to replace the liner because [redacted] told them that these two defects in the liner were definitely "Manufacturers Defects" after he supposedly came back out to look at them at their request. I was called that they were coming out to do just that and we were here the whole evening and the entire weekend being on my porch 6:30AM each morning and no one ever showed up. This tells me that [redacted] did not have to take another look as he already knew that the defects existed. (See beginning)[redacted], the owner of B&T Installations has stated to me and to the management of the pool company that he will not cover another install.Desired Settlement: Rather than have to deal with [redacted] again I request a full refund of the installation fee of $450.00 and I will find another installer.
