My name is [redacted] ***, I am the owner of B-Town Automotiveand I am responding to Mr [redacted] complaint and request for redress ofhis grievance against our business. Our business is located at 2nd St., Berthoud,CO, an industrial part of Berthoud, comprised of manufacturing, milling, andfabrication facilities as well as Apex Shredding and a machine shop with whichwe share parking As a result there are any number of vehicles of all sizes and configurations moving around theparking lot; hence, we have clearly posted signs stating, “We are notresponsible for theft or damage to vehicles left on the premisesOn March 30, 2015, Mr [redacted] vehicle was left over night atour business for diagnosis of a “check engine light” and a vibration in thefront end At 8:am on March 31, our employee entered the vehicle into our computer system, and at approximately8:am the car was moved from the front parking lot into our shop [redacted] vehicle was brought into our shop and parked on whatwe call the flat This is an area within the shop away from lifts, equipment, and other vehicles where we diagnoseissues similar to those [redacted] reported After completing the diagnosis on the check engine light the vehicle wasmoved to one of our lifts where it was raised and run in order to diagnose thevibration Although our employees (vehicle technicians) are notrequired to document the condition of any vehicle, or the personal possessionsleft within, they are very conscientious about verbally noting these things tothe other employees In this case each employee noted and discussed the condition of this car, that being a greatnumber of scratches on the front and rear and, most notably, the missing grillbadge This seemed to fit with [redacted] comments to our employee that the car was purchased after having beenwrecked We had no additional information as to the extent or location of damage, or the repair or lack ofrepairs completed. We diagnosed the check engine light as a secondary airinjection leak, requiring the removal of the intake manifold to determine theexact cause Our employee diagnosed the vibration as being caused by, or enhanced by tires and or wheels Our employee also recommended replacing thefront struts Because we do not service tires or wheels, our employee did not investigate that issue any further;however, a wheel and or tire damaged by striking a curb, which [redacted] isinsisting one of our employees did, would match his complaint of a vibrationfrom the front end During the diagnostic process our employee left the engine dust cover off the top of theengine This cover is not performance related; however, we responded to [redacted] residence to correct that issue. While speaking with ***, he said several times that hisson drives the car, and that he, ***, inspects it nightly to ensure it hasnot been damaged, presumably by his son.It is our position that [redacted] car was not damaged in anyway while at B-Town Automotive The damage he has accused our employees of causing was not, and could not have beena result of our driving into our shop, diagnosing it on the flat, or on thelift The damage to the wheel does not appear to be as a result of being parked overnight in our parking lot and maybe one reason for the vibration he brought it in for in the first place We are a family owned and operated businessand are not in the position to refund a $diagnostic fee for an inappropriate allegation against our employees, let alone replace a wheel whichhad been damaged prior to the car being left with us [redacted] paid the minimum amount for his vehicleand chose not to affect any of the recommended repairs, prior to complainingthat “we” had damaged his carThank you for your time in this matter,Sincerely, [redacted] ***B-Town Automotive

B Town Automotive Gave a estimate before hand, when repair was done, it was 3X the amount of estimate.

B Town has a good way of telling a potential customer what they want to hear. [redacted] gives a customer a estimate then when repair is final, it's soo much higher than orignal. There was damage to my car while was in there care, had scratchess on the top of both front fenders, the passenger side door, the front nose and also the top of the hood.

[redacted] said that they would be able to perform the work of removing the transmission from a 2005 Mitibushi Eclipse. I had questioned the practices of the removel after I returned to the place of business after having no contact for approx. 2 weeks. [redacted] said "they were waiting on a tool, sdo they could remove the transmission". They were shipping the transmission to Longmount to?? will add more!!
