B&A Automotive Reviews (1)

Review: I brought in my 01 Subaru Forester to B&A Automotive September 14, 2012 and had a bunch of repairs made (replaced head gasket, new timing belt, water pump, resurface cylinders, oil change) that totaled to around $1695.16.In late December, my car was having issues. I tried a quick fix (replacing thermostat) but the issues continued. I brought my car back into B&A Automotive to be looked at on January 15, 2013. He kept my car for a day or two and said he checked it out and there weren't any issues-- just a 'bubble' in the radiator that was affecting circulation of coolant-- I got the oil changed and drove my car home. A few days later, my car started to overheat while I was on the highway. I brought my car into a different mechanic on February 12th at a different place and they confirmed that my head gasket was blown and that there was a misfire in #4 cylinder (I had to pay $70.99 for this diagnosis, also). I had just had the head gasket replaced only three months earlier, so I called B&A to see what the warranty was on the part and labor.February 11th was the first phone call I made. I was told that I would get a call back once he had an answer from his "parts guy." I called back again on February 14th and he still had no answer for me and said he was still waiting. I called back again yesterday, February 22 and was told that he was "on the other line figuring it out and would call back in a few minutes" but I never received a call. I have no parts numbers on my receipts. I cannot get a phone call back about the issue. I was told that the parts are under warranty and that some labor is, too. The website also says "Satisfaction Guaranteed." I have had my car parked for two weeks now and have to get rides to and from work. I am a college student that cannot afford to pay for work that was just done 3-4 months ago. I need some sort of discount, warranty, or refund from B&A Automotive, but they will not answer.Desired Settlement: Cost of Cylinder Head Gasket Set - $249.65 (according to my receipt)Cost of Diagnosis after B&A Automotive failed to correctly diagnose issues - $70.99 (I have the receipt to prove the cost)Cost of Labor to Replace Head Gasket elsewhere -- $546.00 (that is what B&A charged me, albeit I did have other parts replaced during this labor charge).I would like to bring my car elsewhere to be fixed.Willing to negotiate, but I cannot get any answers from B&A Automotive.
