Back 2 Health Family Wellness Center Reviews (1)

I contacted this establishment and got an appointment. I told the young lady on the phone where I work and what kind of insurance I had. I was told that everything was fine and was to told that I could come in. I drove 45 min, arrived at the office and gave them my insurance information and was filling out paperwork, when the young lady called me into a side office and told me that my insurance didn't cover their service and that she apologized. Then stated that she had previous knowledge that my insurance did not cover their service and that I could still get adjusted but I would have to pay 60 for an Xray and 150 for the exam. I declined, was not angry, said I understood and left. I then sent a message to the owner telling him about my experience as an FYI and received the following back. (He also blocked me so I could not respond to him any longer)
I spoke to my assistant. She was aware that you worked at a distribution center, but now aware that it was Walmart's. Additionally, as health insurance plans change yearly, even if she was aware that you worked at Walmart, she would have been unable to quote you on the spot whether you had coverage or not. Even if your company did not offer coverage in 2015 does not mean they won't cover in 2016. Also you stated to her that you had medicare as a secondary insurance. Medicare does cover chiropractic care. So even if she absolutely knew you didn't have coverage through Walmart, she did absolutely know that you have coverage through Medicare. The above mentioned reasons are why you were scheduled for an appointment. Had she known from your intake phone call that you had zero coverage, you would have been told prior to scheduling an appointment. For patient's with zero coverage we require verbal agreement that they are willing to pay for car prior to scheduling their appointment. I can understand your frustration with poor insurance coverage but please direct that concern to your HR supervisor at Walmart. We don't have time to waste either.
I would advise that you review a copy of your health insurance policy and understand your benefits thoroughly. If you had visited any other office than mine you would of had services provided and just received a bill in the mail. My office has the decency to notify you of your expected out of pocket costs prior to rendering services.... this is a courtesy I can assure you that you won't receive anywhere else.
As you can see the doctor was quick to fault me and basically call me stupid. At no time did I try to fault them for my insurance. But he was quick to try and attack me. My only concern in this whole ordeal was that they be upfront and honest when dealing with customers over the phone. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, at anytime or place. As you can see the people they treat are only numbers to them and they are unable to take any type of criticism without going completely negative.
