The whole reason it's taken me so long to do anything, is that they never gave me material to cover the seats with, they bought the seats, there was no money put down to help cover costsI am having health issues that are preventing me from completing the workThere were no time frames involved I've been doing this for years, I'm good at what I do, but I have health issues that are preventing me from completing the work at the speed I'm typically able toThey brought the seats over to start the deal months before I was cleared to go back to work, knowing that there would be a delayThey seemed to understand everything in the beginning, and everything went south after they didn't get what they wanted, when they wanted it As for the refund, I'd don't see where a refund is dueThere is a sign posted in my shop that states no refundsOne set of seats were stolen and replacedThey agreed to the other seats, they also agreed that I would have the other set of seats taken out of the garage for themThey are requesting $refunded, when they only paid $I tried to deliver the seats, however, they refused themThey are the ones that are attempting to back out of the deal

MrM*** response is contradictiveHe states that the whole reason he did not do any of the work is that we never gave him money for material and in the next sentence he says that he did not do anything because he was not cleared to work and was in poor health and that he told us thisThis is the first we are hearing about him not being "cleared to work" or that we needed to give him material to cover the seats withThe agreement was that the $would be used for him to purchase material plus we would be given a "credit" for the other seats If Mr*** was not cleared for work, how was he able to complete other customers work? An example is that he told us about pontoon boat he completed at a "rush" because the customer wanted itI told him at one of the meetings that we felt we were being put on the back burnerAt one point he told us that the seats were almost done and he needed another weekThe next meeting the seats were supposedly stolenAt no time did Mr*** state that health issues, the need for more money from us or that we were expected to provide material was the issue for the delay The agreement was that we would be given a credit for the seats we had dropped off originally and that the $was a down payment to start work on the seats that were apparently stolen at some pointWe contacted Mr*** several times over a 9+ month period of time, even giving dates when we would like the seats done by and at no time did he inform us that he was not cleared to do work, or that he was having a problem completing it due to health issuesIt is consistently one excuse after another, be it, the seats got stolen, waiting for the insurance company to purchase another pair of seats, to people are stealing from his property, to family issues, to health issues, etc. He did not fulfill his part of the agreementWe did not accept the seats from his friend that came to our house because it was not the original agreement and at his request we had already begun court proceedings or as he demanded "take him to court"Legally people or businesses do not get to agree to perform a service, take money for that service and then because the customer does not accept a substandard product, or receive the product that was promised, get to keep the money. We filed a law suit with Clackamas County Small Claims Court on April 11, Per court documents we are now out of pocket $($plus court fees)He will have days after he is served to respond to the court As you can see by MrM*** statement, he is continuing his poor business practice and trying to find an excuse in order to make his keeping our money justifiable and legal

I've been doing this for 36 years, I'm good at what I do, but I have health issues that are preventing me from completing the work at the speed I'm typically able to. They brought the seats over to start the deal months before I was cleared to go back to work, knowing that there would be a delay. They seemed to understand everything in the beginning, and everything went south after they didn't get what they wanted, when they wanted it. 
As for the refund, I'd don't see where a refund is due. There is a sign posted in my shop that states no refunds. One set of seats were stolen and replaced. They agreed to the other seats, they also agreed that I would have the other set of seats taken out of the garage for them. They are requesting $300 refunded, when they only paid $250. I tried to deliver the seats, however, they refused them. They are the ones that are attempting to back out of the deal.
