My account was charged for 2 deliveries that were never made and I have been unable to reach anyone at the company about not getting the product. I placed an order for the week of March 13th in which my debit account was charged $35.70. My produce should have arrived Tuesday March 14th. I contacted the company through their website on Thursday March 16th and did not hear back from them. I placed a second order on March 16th to get my produce for the week of March 20th and my account was charged for $35.70 on March 21st. I again did not receive the produce I had ordered. I attempted to contact the company through their website, via e-mail, and sent a message through Facebook on March 22nd. I did not hear anything back from the company and I was able to search for a phone number online but it was a pre recording saying they only took calls between 9am-4pm with no option to leave a message. I tried to call back several times and all the line does is ring. I was able to place my account on hold through the website so that I do not continually get charged. I've asked to close my account after not hearing back from them. My last email was sent on April 6th.

Failure to comply with a request for cancellation of membership.We requested a cancellation of our membership on May 22, 2014. I received confirmation of our cancellation on May 23, 2014 from the company; however, on May 27, 2014 we received an order and our bank account was charged. I contacted them via telephone on May 28, 2014 and left message about the account cancellation. I e-mailed them again on May 30, 2014. I received a response stating they would refund my account in 3-5 business days. They have yet to refund out bank account from the date of our cancellation and continue to charge our account and send us the produce box. We have had to contact our bank personally to have them blocked from charging our bank account and now our bank is seeking for the to return the money through unauthorized charges. The business has failed to respond to any inquires and again attempted to charged our account on 6/17/14; however, was unable to since we've had our bank block their charges. We did; however, still receive a produce box this week. This is not good business practice to continue to charge an account when not authorized, to fail to communicate with a customer, and not to follow through with request for cancellation.Desired SettlementWe would like to be refunded for all charges from May 27, 2014 to June 10, 2014. We are unable to return the product due to it being produce.Business Response We are happy to refund charges for unwanted deliveries. It looks like an error in our system that the deliveries were not cancelled, however, customer continued to receive deliveries for 2 weeks (week of 6/1 and week of 6/8) and we did not receive any additional correspondence regarding the error beyond 5/30.Consumer Response We actually left a telephone message twice with no return call. We had to contact our bank to get the charges stopped since we were receiving no response from them. The bank requested us to have no further communication with them until the issues was resolved since they we're unauthorized charges. Final Business Response Due to high volume of calls we do state on our website and website that email is the best way to contact us. We have refunded both erroneous charges as of 6/20/14. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

Produce box was not as promised..then not delivered the following week..then they charged my credit card again after I cancelled the service.On May 19th, a local seasonal produce box was delivered with year old apples, rotten tomatoes and a bag of peanuts. I let them know that I was not happy with it but that I would try one more week...the next week they delivered to another house and road and the produce was ruined from sitting in the sun for a few days. I told them to cancel the standing order..then they charged my credit card yet again on 6/1. I had to cancel my credit card so they could not continue to charge my card. They have VERY POOR customer service and they do not know what one person is doing versus another..I contacted more than one person and no one knew what was going on..Desired SettlementMy credit card is disputing the three payments in question but I want others to know that this is not a good business to deal with.Business Response Customer was refunded two $19.00 purchases and the final charge on 6/1/15 was voided and never processed. We followed up in a timely manner and addressed their questions and concerns as best we could. Some things, like a driver making a mistake and delivering to the wrong address, are out of our control. All other requests were addressed and taken care of exactly as the customer asked.Consumer Response They did not respond in a timely manner, but it has been resolved. Saying that having a delivery driver that cannot correctly deliver produce is not in their control is not a company that I would want to deal with. If they cannot control the delivery of fresh produce than there is a big problem as the product is highly perishable. They also need to have someone that answers emails in a more timely manner and in a way that all parties ( billing, shipping, delivery) are communicating which clearly did not happen. I am glad they gave me my money back, but in the process my credit card company recommended that I cancel the card and I had to have it re-issued which was a big inconvenience.Final Consumer Response

I have attempted to contact Backyard produce due to 1 quality issue and 6 missing items on an order for 17 June. Date: 17 JuneMy complaint is regarding an order placed with backyard produce for delivery on 17 June. My issue is quality of 1 product, failed delivery of 6 items and customer service did not provide a complete response. I emailed the company numerous times on 17 and 18 June. I have only been using this service for 2 months and on the 17th my order was delivered at 4:45 pm- when my normal delivery is before noon. This leads me to believe they attempted to fulfill my order after I sent a message to them yesterday afternoon regarding the status. I attempted to call XXX-XXX-XXXX but there was no answer and the mailbox could not receive messages. I want to cancel my membership and not be billed for any additional service. I am completely unhappy. I have used similar services in [redacted] and over the last 5 years this company has been my only regret for shopping for locally grown, organic foods. I request a response to my quality concern and missing items. I also request full cancellation of service with Backyard Produce of Cary. In addition, I want my money refunded for the product I did not receive.In my opinion the inability to talk with someone regarding your experience is their largest downfall. Customer sent 6 separate emails from 6/14-6/18. At time of this complaint 3 of 6 had been answered. We do answer all emails in the order they are received. As of 6/19 at 930am customer has been refunded in full for this week's incorrect order ($61.75)and account has been cancelled at customer's request. We feel that 24-48 hours is an adequate response time to respond to all emails and this customer did not have to wait any longer than that to receive a response and resolution to all issues.
