I had an item in for chrome plating that had flaws in the finish. The owner was very rude and said it was the item and not his process. He reluctantly agreed to redo after I pressed the issue. When I called to check if the piece was ready for pick-up, the receptionist could not find the order. She was rude and told me they would call me when it was ready. I said it was suppose to be ready the day before. She raised her voice to a yell to inform me "it ain't ready." I asked to speak to the owner and I was immediately cut off. I finally got the item a few days later and the same flaws were noticeable. I don't think they ever tried to redo it.

Terrible customer service and does bad business. Parts not chromed correctly the first time manager said he would put a rush on it for the inconvenience be ready by early next week over a week later part STILL not ready spoke with receptionist about dissatisfaction she kept cutting me off and was rude complained to production manager he was just as rude then when he realized what customer I was became nice. UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS CONDUCT

Review: I took my headlight frames to this company to be bright chromed on July 2012 for my classic show car a 1977 Cutlass 442. I was told by the receptionist [redacted] that it would take about two (2) months to complete both and paid my deposit of $200. After the two months I hadn't received a call so I started calling them on to be given the run-around that they weren't ready yet and they would call me when they were. After almost a month of that [redacted] finally called me not to pick up my products but to ask me the make and model of my vehicle. I told her and asked why she needed this information and she stated it was just for her records and that my parts would be ready in about a week. I had to keep calling for almost another month for her to finally tell me the truth they in fact damaged one of my frames and was trying to locate a new one but because of the rarity of the vehicle they could not find one. When I asked her what their plan was to make me and my vehicle whole she said they have done all they could do trying to find it and that I should go on-line and try to find it! I told her that was their responsibility and that I needed to speak to someone else regarding the matter. I did try to find the parts as wel but to no avail. Needless to say I could never speak to anyone else as they were never available. I then asked to speak to the owner and left several messages with no response. After that all my calls were either never answered or I was hung up on. I finally got in touch with [redacted] in November 2013 and was told to come in and speak to someone on November 19, 2013 and when I got there I was greeted by a sign on the door stating they were closed for the holiday. I called when they reopened and was told to come in and speak to someone but when I got there they weren't there. I continued to try and call and go up there to speak to someone with no luck.

I contacted an attorney in August of 2013 to weigh my options and was told to start off with a letter explaining what happened and what further actions I would take if no one responded to try and settle this matter. I did so on September 12, 2013 and received a call from the new receptionist [redacted] on September 16 and she stated they were in receipt of my letter and that I would be getting a refund of my $200 deposit and that one of the frames was done and that they just received a frame for the replacement of the one they damaged (pretty odd). [redacted] proceeded to ask me what I wanted them to do with the replacement take it as is or to chrome it. I told her I would like it chromed but was not going to pay for it and her response was 'oh no we are going to take care of because of all the hassle." I agreed and she told me I would have to come in to pick up the deposit and completed part because I had to sign something stating I was in receipt of both. I told her that is fine but I had to call her back to let her know when I would be able to as I work two jobs back to back in Waukesha.

I called her on September 24 to let her know I would be in around 1:30 and she said that was fine. She then called me back about 5 minutes later and said the man I needed to speak with was not going to be in the office at that time so I would have to come in the next day. I called [redacted] on September 25 at 12:50pm to ensure that the person I needed to meet with was there and she said yes so I told her I was on my way and asked if the check and part was ready because I could not wait because I had to be back at work and she said yes everything is ready. When I arrived I was informed by [redacted] that I was not going to be getting my refund as she previously stated because she had talked to you and you told her not to give it to me and when I asked her why did she not say that when I just talked to her, her response was “oh I forgot to tell you that part.” The part that was supposedly completed looked horrible like it was completed in a rush just to give it to me as it had bubbles in it and still had rust on it (I took pictures of it). My next question was how did they find a part (and had multiple parts) and have it in the office the same day that they received my letter yet the part is essentially non-existent. This leads me to believe they are trying to just give me anything to get me out of their hair and it’s not the right parts.

Both [redacted] and Tim who handled this situation were very rude and unhelpful. Tim even started yelling at me that he had nothing to do with this that he was just thrown into this situation and he is doing his best considering he has nothing to go off of as the original staff that handled this is no longer there. I then walked out because I was getting upset that I was being yelled at and trying to make it seem like this entire thing was my fault. I stepped outside took a deep breath and came back in and told them I would no longer speak to them about this matter and to have you call me so we could discuss this matter professionally.

I did not receive a call from [redacted] by September 27 so I wrote another letter stating I was moving forward with my original plans of filing a Revdex.com complaint as well as a small claims case against them since he did not want to rectify this matter. I in turn received another call from [redacted] on October 1 stating that [redacted] stated he does not speak to customers so he will not be calling me so I said that is fine I don’t wish to speak to anyone else in the facility so I will see him in court.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit returned as well as my parts . I am leary about the parts that they are trying to give me as it may not be the correct part.

Response:

[redacted] brought in her 1977 Cutlass 442 headlight bezels to be chromed by our company on July 13, 2012. Unfortunately during the process one of the bezels were accidently damaged; however, the othElr one did get completed, Once we were aware that the bezel was damaged, we began to search for a replacement. After months of searching, we finally found a set of headlight bezels for a 1977 Cutlass 442 and purchased them, The set of bezels we found are in good condition. Upon receipt of the customer's first letter, she did receive a call from our receptionist. The receptionist gave her two options. First option, we can send the bezels back to her, as is with a refund. Second option, we can work on the new one and fix it, which she would not receive a refund with a turnaround time taking 4-7 weeks. When she came into our office on September 26, 2013 to look at the parts with the Production Manager lo discuss what can be done to complete the job, nobody here in our facility was ever rude to this customer or yelled. We tried reasoning with the customer to have her needs satisfied numerous times by going the extra mile. It seems to us, that nothing we do will satisfy her needs; therefore, we are asking that the customer pick up her items within thirty (30) days of date to this letter and signs a release of service form. This is her notice that we are not responsible for her items in whole or in part after thirty days.

Sincerely,

Badger Metal Finishing

Response:

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is semi-satisfactory to me. I will not sign anything until I can take the parts to where the vehicle is to ensure that they are in fact the correct parts as I am still skeptical of that claim. The vehicle is currently in the shop so it cannot be driven to the facility so this is the ONLY option. I will be given all three (3) parts, the one they so-called finished, the broken part, and the supposed replacement part. As I do not see it stated in the letter but I do require that my deposit of $200 be returned as I am not happy with the work that was performed and will have to take it else where to be done correctly.

If this is not acceptable to Badger Metal or if I take time off of work again to go there and there is more foolery (they do not hold to their word) as it has been when I get there then I will proceed with my small claims action. Once it is confirmed that the parts are actually the correct parts I will call the business and they can either email or mail the form that needs to be signed and I will email/mail it back to them as I will not take any more time off of work (after I have picked up my parts) to handle this situation as they have wasted my time and essentially money to take off of work for this more than five (5) times since I initially started business with them. These terms are non-negotiable and I will not go to the business until I have confirmation that these terms are acceptable. This is in response to their 30 day time frame given in their letter so the 30 days start from now.
