We received your messages about getting together to meet 'face to face' and come to a resolution. These calls were sent as 'blocked identity' so they were not answered at the time they came in. Does calling blocked id really show us that you wanted us to answer and get this resolved? Just saying.... All said, we feel that the opportunity for this to happen, should have been prior to the certified letter and the Revdex.com complaints. In an effort to get resolution, we will accept your payment of $and consider this matter closed

The response from the business is testament to the service we receivedI have copies of multiple email, texts and even photos sent to the business to alert them of our concerns and would not have been necessary if we had EVER been told that credits would happen (which to date have not been received) or if WEEKS had not evolved without lawn service (and despite being a rainy season, it did not rain for weeks straight).Despite John telling us that he would be out to speak with us in October, but wanted to read our certified letter first, he never showed up and it took MONTHS to even respond to this complaint! Are there so many complaints that it took months to receive this followup? For a company to be in business for this amount of time, one would expect that they would be accustomed to the weather of the area they work inDespite wet weather on occasion, other lawn care business in this neighborhood were using alternate cutting options, ie, hand cutting vsheavy duty zero turn mowers which of course, would slideThe integrity of a business is measured by the results and the resutls in this situation is that we were and are not satisfied with what occurred after the patio installation. I did ask for reimbursement for my perennials and did indeed mention it again in my Revdex.com complaintI also asked for reimbursement for services not provided and would be happy to compare my calendar which clearly denotes every week we did not receive service with the company schedule and there are BIG discrepancies-many more than 2. The frustration of poor communication led to Tom's visit and displeased phone call which indicates there was a problem that should have received a satisfactory outcome that would not lead to a Revdex.com complaintA response to our frustrations in JÀNUARY for issues that ended in OCTOBER again speak to communication problems. We are disappointed that the response from this company is that these issues are ALL customer related and they do not seem to take accountability for their partWe were willing to be flexible and collegial if they had even APPEARED to own their part in these concernsWe were willing to still provide good feedback for others as well as referrals, however due to this follow up and many INACCURACIES as well, we caution anyone intending to use this company to heed our issues and others who reported similar problems and find another vendor. I STILL want reimbursement

This will be a final rejection of the response The scope of work was completed per the contract, however the REASON we agreed to contract with Badgerland to complete the work was to eliminate the cycling of the sump pump The purpose of the scope of work is not generally listed on the contract, but I was verbally told several times that the scope of work suggested by the contractor would fix the issue I relied on his professional judgement It in fact made it much worse by waterlogging our yard and our neighbor's yard The more expensive options were only discussed after the initially contracted work was completed, not prior to The only other option discussed prior to this was discharging to the street, which the city deemed unacceptable The work was repeatedly gone over by phone and in person with my wife, and we were told it would fix the issue Badgerland asked if they could remove the PVC after finishing the project (it wouldn't be needed anymore if the project worked correctly) and I agreed Being that it does not work correctly, I need the PVC I have owned a business myself and though the explicit warranties you give your customers may technically help you avoid responsibility, you should stand behind your word and your work I did not contract with Badgerland to spend $2k just to pipe my downspouts further out to the yard, it was to fix our sump discharge issue
Regards,
*** ***

As stated before, we completed everything per the signed and agreed upon contract. The fact that the sump runs so often that the point of discharge cannot dry up is another issue. We stopped the cycling of water back to the sump. You were not onsite when your wife asked us to remove the PVC pipe. If you recall, on several occasions, you repeatedly asked us to come back and also take your decorative stone. We did not do this and for that I am thankful. I would not have saved that either and I'm sure you would be asking for that as well. Reaching out to the Revdex.com is a great resource for trying to resolve an issue, however, the 'bashing' on Facebook seems over the top for a former business owner...There were other, more expensive options discussed, prior to the authorization of work. You chose this option based on the lowest cost. You cannot deny that.  You even admitted in November that other contractors were giving you a quote to tie into the storm sewer and they had expressed how badly your backyard was graded. You told me that the quotes were extremely expensive and that you were not going to go through with that. If you recall, my quote covered the grading behind your house along with the sump and downspouts on the West side of your house. I will state this one last time, we completed everything per our written and agreed upon contract. If you read the last statement on your contract, it clearly states that "no oral representations have been made to the purchaser. All terms of the agreement are printed or written herein"We have been in business for 20 years and have always stood by our warranties and guarantees. The soggy lawn at the exit of your buried sump pump and downspouts, is clearly nothing that we can possibly guarantee or warranty against.  Common sense would tell you that this area is going to be wet. We solved the issue that we were hired to do. I do not believe there is anything more to re-iterate or further discuss. The customer is being unreasonable regarding the work that was completed and agreed upon.

Our response to the lawn care complaints are as follows: 22 lawn mowing services were provided throughout the season. This is two mowing's short of the contracted amount. Credit will be given for these two services. As everyone in SE Wisconsin knows, spring of 2017 was the wettest on record up...

through August 1st! Lawn mowing cannot be preformed when turf is too wet or during a rainfall. Especially on a property that has hills and slopes! Having been in business for 20 years, we understand this, however, for a new lawn maintenance customer, this may seem like we are not following the contract. We explained several times that we track all of our services and at the end of the season, credits will be given. Yes our crew accidentally removed some perennials. Our supervisor contacted the owner and offered to replace and or compensate the owners for this mistake. She declined. Our records indicate that the homeowner reached out to the supervisor twice; once regarding the flowers and once regarding the compensation for lawn cutting if the contracted 24 was not done. Perhaps the communication could have been better, had the homeowners husband not stormed into our office in May and cursed the supervisor out in front of his piers??? Just saying...Regarding the cleaning and sealing of the pavers: as I stated above, the spring was extremely wet and the patio is on the north side of their home. In order to clean and seal the pavers, the patio absolutely must be dry. Our construction crews were running about seven weeks behind on our schedule by august 1st! We provided this service when our schedule and weather permitted. After cleaning the pavers, the owners reached out to me about moss in the sand joints. I had a conversation with [redacted] and stated that we cleaned the pavers, but the sand joints had some moss on them that did not get removed with our cleaners. Our contract was to clean the pavers and had no mention of the sand joints, only to replace any sand that was removed from scrubbing. We were there to seal the pavers and she requested of me to further clean the moss from the joints. After a conversation on the phone with her husband, who told me that I MUST have seen this before, I discussed some options with [redacted] and told her that this was above and beyond the contract. We discussed chemical options and while talking, my crew began to 'scrape' the joints with screw drivers. this was working, so I immediately drove to Home Depot and purchased thin wire brushes for my crew to use on the joints. This worked and I told her they would keep track of their time and materials. I'm not sure how this was lost in her translation. We completed the job while they were out of town and invoiced for the completed work, along with the additional man hours. Next I received a rude and condescending message from Tom on my voicemail, along with some choice curse words. I still have the message! After this, It had become clear that they had no interest in paying for the discussed additions. I even sent a crew back out to clean up and add additional sand in the joints per their request! I don't know what else a contractor is to do when you try to explain services to someone that doesn't understand the services they have signed up for.

As I stated in the previous response, we completed the quoted and agreed upon work. There was an issue of a wet backyard and recycling of water. We solved that issue and that is what was "verbally" told to the customer.  It clearly states in the signed contract that there are no guarantees of warranties beyond what is stated in the contract. There were other, more expensive options discussed, and this is the one that the [redacted] chose. Besides, I had not even met [redacted] at his home until November of 2016. He was not onsite for the initial meeting, which in hind sight, I feel he should have been. Regarding the materials removed from his home, we were asked to haul away the corrugated tubing and PVC pipes. We did so at no additional charge to the customer. We did not keep most of the materials. If the customer wanted them, then they should not have asked us to haul them away. I will look to see what I have and drop them off this week. I will not cut into the connection that we made or alter the work that was agreed upon by both parties. My responsibility of this project has been completed and it sounds like they have already hired another contractor to perform the work that I suggested from the get go.  Having been in the drainage solution business for over 20 years, I understand that there are contractors that will perform the same type of work for less than others. There are many options when it comes to material and installation quality, costs, overhead, equipment and other factors that go into a project. I'm glad that the [redacted] have found someone to do the work I quoted for half the cost, but would caution them to take a closer look and make sure the quote covers the same details as our proposal. Often times, they do not. It was my understanding from the emails that a connection into the storm sewer was the answer for now and that they would call us in the spring to move forward with the new contract. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

When I first saw the property, the homeowners had been dispensing their sump pump, above ground, into a low area in their backyard. The water remained on the surface and was making it back to their foundation. That portion of the backyard was unusable. My suggestion and quote was to bury the sump...

line along with two downspouts and exit them in the front yard, beyond the foundation. This would allow the backyard to dry out and eliminate the "recycling" of water. The homeowners explored other options to tie into the city storm sewer or a curb face exit. After a lack of cooperation from the city, they authorized us to move forward with the work quoted. We preformed the agreed upon work exactly as quoted. We made no guarantees as to the amount of water that would exit the sump line. We held the exit back from the lot line, per municipal code, to allow for water absorption. Most municipalities are requiring this type of installation to prevent 100% of the water from entering the storm sewer. We have responded to each email and even met with the owner and quoted a better, yet more expensive solution. They chose to wait on this solution until 2017. We also do not feel that it is our responsibility to repair the neighbors yard due to their own landscaper driving a truck onto the property. As a good gesture to help out, we agreed to repair the neighbors lawn, but unfortunately ran out of dry weather this fall. We also agreed to drop off any materials that we were asked to remove from the property. Unfortunately, many of these items were not saved. I thought the situation was taken care of when the homeowner emailed me and said he illegally connected his sump pump into the city's storm sewer. No credit or discount will be offered as we preformed all of the quoted work according to the agreed upon specifications.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business stated they have responded to all my emails.  That is not true - please see the attached file.  They stopped responding to my emails in November.  Also, they never returned materials taken from my home as they promised to do on multiple occasions.  Finally, though they never offered a "guarantee" or a "warranty" in writing, they verbally assured me on multiple occasions that their proposal would solve my issue.  That is the entire reason I moved forward with the work.  The reason I declined to move forward with their additional work they proposed is A) The work they promised would work the first time didn't work, so why would I spend $6k more with them, B) The ground was freezing (Thanksgiving timeframe) and C) I needed to get a second quote.  My second quote came in at $3K.  This business should stand behind their work and make this right rather than trying to milk me for more money.

Badger lands response is inaccurate. They did not attempt to re seed several times, they tried one more time after the first failure which is a total of two times not several that they say in the response. They are also false that we did not water the grass and the when they came out to re-seed the second time yes we were unaware they were coming because I was told by them that they would let me know in advance when they were coming so we were not aware what they were doing and the person who did the job was simply throwing seeds over the ground from his hand. I'm ok with deducting the $240 from the final bill but want it reflected in the final total minus $240 because I don't trust this company and given the false information in the response and the very, poor follow up and broken promises including being promised a call from the owner twice that never happened I want to make sure I'm covered. If the minus $240 can be reflected in the final bill that will be fine and hopefully end my nightmare with this company.   Revdex.com:

I apologize for not following up on this.  I was aware of this complaint and told that the parties involved would handle it. We attempted to re-seed an area of lawn several times per request. After the second attempt, it was apparent that the failure was due to a lack of watering.  The...

homeowner was told that we were installing grass seed the day of installation and was instructed to water it daily. We received a call four days later at our office and it was the same homeowner asking what we were doing at their property that day. It seems that they forgot what services we provided and most likely forgot to water. The customer still has an outstanding balance due and we are willing to have them deduct the $240.00 when remitting final payment. This information should have been told to the owners by my office staff.  Hopefully this will resolve their complaint.

Grass seed installation has a one year warranty, if diligent watering is done.  We re-seeded the area with no questions asked, at the request of the customer.  The process of reseeding is being questioned, but was not supervised by the customer.  As I stated in my last response, I did not return the call as my office staff and salesman told me that they would take care of the follow up.  They reported emailing the customer several times with no response.  The discount of $240.00 is actually the total amount of the quoted work, so we are crediting the entire charge for this work, even though we performed the service two times.  Trust?  Are you serious?

Review: I had Badgerland out to review some landscaping work that included drainage solutions and border installation with stone. The Badgerland representative provided ideas and listened to my thoughts and feedback. He indicated he would send me a proposal via email (at first, he offered to write a proposal quickly and give it to me; an offer that I am now sorry that I declined). After not receiving it for over a week, I called the Badgerland rep directly. He indicated he had sent it but would send it again. After many weeks of being told that it was sent and confirming my email address, I still had not received the proposal. The rep indicated this had never happened before; likewise, I had never provided my email address and seemingly have the sending party's email fall into an abyss that never funneled to my inbox. After several weeks, I requested the proposal to be sent via USPS mail. The rep seem amiable to this, but I did not receive the proposal via mail. I called the rep directly and called the company's main line several times and left voicemails. I did not receive any responses. I texted the rep with no response (I do not know if the cell phone receives texts). I also submitted an online request explaining the situation. Still, no response. I went to the Badgerland HQ in person, but nobody was in the office upon my arrival. I have attempted to contact the company many times in several different ways with no success. I understand that no agreement has been made and I am really not financially negatively impacted by the lack of response. However, I was quite interested in the proposal and wanted to take a look.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive and review the proposal. Even if I do not receive it, I understand that Badgerland has the right to provide service to parties it deems desirable and appropriate. If Badgerland does not respond, my complaint is simply one of disappointment with the lack of response that I received after the initial email attempts seemed to fail. I also understand Badgerland has the right to respond to the initial complaint before it becomes official. I would be interested in any reasons for the lack of response.

Response:

To Whom it may Concern;

I recently had a negative experience with Badger Lawn and Landscaping. On June 30, 2014, I contacted Badger Lawn and Landscaping to give me a quote on installing a drainage system. [redacted] a representative from the business arrived at my home to view my yard. When [redacted] visited my home he told my he would deliver my quote via email. He stated that he would do it after the holiday which I understood. However, after the holiday passed I hadn't received my quote. I contacted Badger and spoke with [redacted] who informed me she would forward my message to [redacted]. After several days passed again I still hadn't received a quote. I again contacted the business and spoke with [redacted]. She told me that she would again forward my message to [redacted]. I waited several more days and spoke with [redacted] again regarding [redacted] not delivering my quote or responding to my call. I called again because I still haven't received my quote. [redacted] once again hadnt followed through. I understand things happen but this is ridicolus and unprofessional. I emailed the owner regarding my concern and received no response. I wouldn't trust this company to do a job if thier employees can't even follow through on a simple task of providing a quote.
