I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below For almost three days into a four day stay we did not have a second working bathroom for a group of peopleI feel that the $the owner withheld from my security deposit is more than covered from the money he should refunded from lack of a working bathroom Only the toilet was fixed late in our stayWe never had a second working showerTo withhold any of our security deposit, I feel, was a travesty when a refund was warrantedI inadvertently missed a line in the contract saying all trash had to removedGarbage cans were provided in one of the out buildings and that's where we put the trast seemed reasonable to us, people were from out of town and we had no way of disposing of trash and I would think this would be the case for most of his rentersIf there was a separate charge for trash removal, it should have been noted in the contractI really think this was a "gotcha clause" in his contract so that he could start subtracting from the security depositHe rented a house that had old furnitureThere has to be some reasonable expectation of wear by his guestsHis charge for stretching of chairs was not backby any pictures or evidence sent to me of any damageI therefore think this is another bogus claim and an attempt to extort money, It's the first I have heard that we left the house in a messWhere is the evidence of this? I'm sure he would have charged for that if that was the caseWould you like me to provide testimony from other guests to this effectHe never mentioned this in the lengthy correspondence we had over the security depositIn conclusion, I think he is running a scam and would not hesitate to unfairly subtract money from future renters I think he should in the least return all of my security deposit if not compensate me $for lack of the working bathroom Regards, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
For almost three days into a four day stay we did not have a second working bathroom for a group of 12 people. I feel that the $110 the owner withheld from my security deposit is more than covered from the money he should refunded from lack of a working bathroom.  Only the toilet was fixed late in our stay. We never had a second working shower. To withhold any of our security deposit, I feel, was a travesty when a refund was warranted. I inadvertently missed a line in the contract saying all trash had to removed. Garbage cans were provided in one of the out buildings and that's where we put the trash. It seemed reasonable to us, people were from out of town and we had no way of disposing of trash and I would think this would be the case for most of his renters. If there was a separate charge for trash removal, it should have been noted in the contract. I really think this was a "gotcha clause" in his contract so that he could start subtracting from the security deposit. He rented a house that had old furniture. There has to be some reasonable expectation of wear by his guests. His charge for stretching of chairs was not backed-up by any pictures or evidence sent to me of any damage. I therefore think this is another bogus claim and an attempt to extort money, It's the first I have heard that we  left the house in a mess. Where is the evidence of this? I'm sure he would have charged for that if that was the case. Would you like me to provide testimony from other guests to this effect. He never mentioned this in the lengthy correspondence we had over the security deposit. In conclusion, I think he is running a scam and would not hesitate to unfairly subtract money from future renters.  I think he should in the least return all of my security deposit if not compensate me $500 for lack of the working bathroom.

morning and the repair was made. In the lease agreement it clearly states that they are responsible for the removal of trash. If they had let me know I could have assisted them in making arrangements for trash removal. They left without saying anything about it and I had to bring it to be disposed of. They were charged $50 for this. There were several chairs that had been stretched, these are 18th and 19th century furnishings and are antiques. I contacted the restorer who estimated the job at $100. I felt this was too high and waited for the actual charges which were $60. I was away at the time and waiting on the actual charges, when I found out the cost I informed the consumer and asked for their address to promptly refund the deposit minus the $110. The place was left a mess which they were not charged anything for.
