Bailey Bee Supply Reviews (2)

I started going to Bee School on January 16th 2016 and went until March 19th in Hillsborough. I preordered two NUC's on 5-18-2016. I ended up cancelling the order within days when someone in my beeschool found something closer to me. The man that was selling me the NUC's ended up telling me his hives had been infected. So I ended up going to the [redacted] Bailey's Bee Supply location to order bees. That location ended up shutting down so I was right back to where I had started at Bailey's Bee Supply in [redacted]. I called numerous times to get my NUC's. I kept getting further and further down the list. I called again and they said that the people that were supposed to pick their bee's up didn't get them so I could come get those NUC's. I was so excited but I told them I live in [redacted] and it would take me sone time (1hr 1/2) to get there. I also had to pack up my hive boxes. He told me to call when I was on my way. I did and was met with rudeness about how I had taken so long and should have left faster. I was taken back at how rude he was. I reminded him that this was last minute and I had to get the hive boxes strapped down in the back of the truck. When picking up the NUC's I saw that the first NUC had a bunch of dead bees in front if it. He told me he wasn't gonna give me that one cause there were to many dead. He talked about how good the other NUC's looked. After seeing months down the road how a good hive is supposed to look I knew I was being lied to that day and was taken advantage of being a new bee keeper. Within a month and a half both of my hives were failing. One a little more than the other. An inspector " [redacted]" came and inspected my hives and told me that I was sold bad hives. She performed a sugar roll on the bee's and said they were totally infested with varroa mites. Not only that but the queens were not performing well. She said I would have to treat both hives immediately for varroa mites. She also said that I would have to get rid of one of the queens because of how bad she was doing. She asked me where I had puechased the NUC's and she knew exactly who I was talking about. She said she had inspected bad hives from Mr. Bailey before. She informed me though that how infected the hive was that they were not treated properly before I received them. I was devastated. I called Mr. Bailey and he made suggestions that it was my yard and he didn't know if I had been feeding them. I told him I had never gone a day without feeding then and that the inspector said they were bad hives when he sold them to me for them to be in such a state in sch a short time. I ordered medicine immediately to treat them I also orderied another queen to try and save the hive but it didnt work because the hive being so infested already I had spent $1,608.47 on getting bee suites, hives boxes, books, attending beeschool, stands, replacing and treating the bees. The list goes on and on with the dedication I had for these bee's. I built every hive myself and now they are all almost all dead. I think that Mr Bailey could have worked with me. If he couldn't reimburse me the $350 . for the two NUC's then may be he could just give me knew uninfected NUC's. I really pray that soneone can help me with this situation. I really hope that this doesn't happen to anybody else. I spent all the money I had on getting those two hives going and have no more left ro replace them .
