I wanted a 1 karat, 5 stone diamond wedding band and they didn't have one in the store so they said they could have one for me in 4 - 6 weeks. I paid $1500.00 down and assumed they were making it in the store. I asked on 3 separate occasions to speak with the jeweler who I thought was making it, to get an idea of the size in comparison to the 1/2 karat they had on display. Every time I was told he was busy and could I come back later. When the ring came in I thought it was what I wanted but after looking at it over the next two days I decided it wasn't what I had wanted from the beginning. I tried to return it and was told it was a special order and they do not allow returns on special orders. There is a blank spot on both forms where you are to sign if you have been made aware of this policy; I never signed either one of these. If I had known there was a no return policy I never would have bought the ring there. [redacted], the sales clerk, told the manager I was made aware of their policy but that isn't true. Business Response Although it is our policy, consistent with all jewelry stores, that items special ordered for our customers are not refundable; In this case we will offer a full refund to this patron due to the fact that our sales associate did not get him to sign the special order document stating that he was aware that there are no refunds or exchanges on special order or custom made merchandise. This is an unfortunate situation that we caused by not following proper procedure and we hope to earn the trust of this patron back in the future.
