Spoke with customer a couple days ago and today. Somehow our contractor did not contact him even though he was asked to. He is not my employee only a contractor.  They are in contact now to get the repair done. Thank you, Jack B[redacted].

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Since the TV was tested and found not to have a defect this resolution is satisfactory.Mr. B[redacted] has offer to refund $2.37 on the miscalculation of the restocking fee which included the sales tax, but I have yet to hear back from him after leaving him a phone message on 02/02/2016.If you could contact him for me it would be very much appreciated.Mr.B[redacted]  can return my phone call for the credit card number or you may provided him with my PO box address for payment through the USPS.Thank you for your help.Sincerely  [redacted]

Sorry for any confusion.  Our warranty purchased was not an extended warranty it was a 3 year gold warranty.  It states that on customer receipt and a copy of the warranty is included with receipt.  We found that this warranty was more valuable to our customers because it covers...

things within the first year that a manufactures warranty will not.  Mainly lighting/ electrical surges and the use of loaner tv's when parts are not available right away.  We have a entire stock of tv's just used for customers to borrow while their tv is in for service.  The typical repair time is around 3 weeks on a tv with only a manufactures warranty our customers would be without a tv during that time period typically. Mr. [redacted] also purchased the "Gold" warranty which entitles him to half his money back in the form of a store credit if he does not use the warranty, which he has not.  This is another huge advantage of our gold warranty compared to a typical extended warranty.  It is also explained in the warranty papers which I can supply another copy of if needed.  I will gladly put that credit on Mr. [redacted]s account and offer him a free diagnosis on his tv.  That will leave him with around $150 that can be applied to the repair of the tv or used towards another purchase.  After the diagnosis is done I'll see if we can help him out in regards to the price of the repair somehow.Thank you, [redacted]

In response to Mr [redacted]'s complaint:We are sorry there was an issue. Yes we have to charge restocking fees at times because we must represent merchandise that has been used as so.  Sometimes that means discounting a tv even more to sell it used. In this case the tv was tested by our...

technicians and no fault was found.  It was then put back on our showroom and sold to another customer at a $30 discount as an open box item.  That customer has kept the tv and has no issues with it.  With tv's getting thinner each year the speakers also get smaller and the sound is not always as expected from an older thicker tv.  That is why the soundbar industry is growing.  I am sorry for the inconvenience it has caused the customer but we indeed took a loss on the tv because it was used.  This restocking fee is pretty standard in our industry and at other retailers alike.  The tv was returned minus the 10% like Mr. [redacted] stated. Bought at $329 and returned at $296.10 (exactly 10%).  How the tax works out is just based on the return price.  I can see how a $2.37 difference may look correct considering all of this.  I will gladly refund it if Mr. [redacted] wishes to email me at [redacted] or call me at [redacted] with his card #.  I again wish there had been some defect that could have avoided a restock fee entirely.  That just was not the case this time.  Thank you, Jack B[redacted]
