Mr*** phoned me on Sunday, April 10, and wanted to come up from StLouis and look at a Toyota Avalon I had for salethe car was sitting at my shop in Normal, IL and I agreed to drive the miles to meet him there around 8:00pmHe
showed up around that time and it was getting dark and it was rainingHe test drove the car for approx min and said he was interested in itWe negotiated a price and he paid me and I gave him the title and the keys to the carI mentioned that it is illegal to drive the car until it is registered and insuredI don't know if he already knew this or not, but he said he would be back to pick it up Tues or WedI never heard anything from him until Sat April 16, when he texted me and said he was on his way to pick up the carAfter he looked at the car on Sunday April 10, it was parked behind my shop and was not touched by me or anyone else after thatThe fact that he thinks the engine was switched is ridiculous because that would cost more in labor than the car was sold for, not to mention its not something I would even think about doingAlso, this was a private party sale that was sold "as is" and had nothing to do with my businessHe got the title and a bill of sale and was on his own to do the title and registration

There was no mention of this transaction as being an as is sale until I mentioned the problems with the carThe Craig's List ad did mention this as an as is saleThe Craig's List ad did mention the car as "runs and drives great." For a business that fixes cars for resale, they cannot be very good as they gave me a car with a bad engineThey are an irresponsible business that the region can do withoutI will be taking my issue to a higher media in the future
