Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: None of those questions were ever asked and I never told you it only ran hot on the highway because it started over heating immediately after I picked it up from your shopI asked all of the questionsYou all assumed it was the thermostat, which was not the issue as I tested the thermostat myselfWhy was the thermostat left in a box unopened in my back seat? It was never put in my car, which is why it was still overheating immediately after I paid you and picked up my carI did approach you all with about the issue over the phone and when I returned my car hours after picking it up and you all were very hostile and intimidatingYou all should have checked ALL elements that could cause a car to overheat before assuming the cause based on what you claim what I told you which is a lieI did not drive my car for minutes before it started over heating and even I did tell you that you still should have checked everything since you all call yourselves professionalsNo favors were done for me when I took my car to you the first or second timeWhy was the brand new thermostat left in my back seat? You all left my original thermostat in my car and are conveniently blaming a plastic bag that you never showed me any proof of as it being my fault once I left your shop the first timeThe bottom line is you all charged me and wrote up a bogus receipt for something that you did not do (replacing a thermostat) and gasket (we never discussed and my motor would of been bad if that were the case) and now removing a so call plastic bagYou ran a shady one on me as a female and too prideful to admit itYou need $more than I do obviously and I was able to bless you, your family, and business not once, but twiceI hope you pay it forward and bless someone else!!! Regards, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because: The gasket was never blownI would have needed a new motor if I had blown a gasketTo replace a gasket it will start at around $You all assumed I needed a thermostat initiallyOne of your mechanics left the new thermostat in the back seat of my car in a manufacturers box, but he did replace the filter (old one left in the backseat of my car), which is why my car was still over heating when I picked it up the first timeThe second time I brought my car back which was the same day I had picked it up for overheating that's when you all discovered that it was a plastic bag causing the overheating problemIt never was a gasket, thermostat, or radiatorI had already paid you and it's unfair that you kept my money knowing full well that the only issue was a plastic bag and not the thermostat (never replaced) or a gasket (never replaced)The receipt only confirms that you cheated you me out of my moneyI have the part (thermostat) still in the box that was left in my back seat as proof that it was never installed because it was never neededI would like a full refund

Dear Revdex.com Corporate Office, This message is a response to a complaint submitted to Revdex.com about my business, Uptown Auto Repair, by *** ***As I have explained in the first letter*** *** came to Uptown Auto Repair for an overheating problemThere are many things that can cause an overheating problemThe first question you ask in regards to a beating problem is "How long does it take for the car to get hot?" When we asked her this, she replied that "it takes about minutes"For a car that is overheating within ten minutes, the course of action is replacing the car's thermostatTherefore, we removed the thermostat to test itThis involves dropping it in hot water to observe how fast and slow it opensThis is standard to determine the condition of the thermostatIt failed the test so we replaced her thermostatShe paid the amount due for parts and laborLater, she returned to Uptown Auto Repair, stating that she still had an overheating problemAfter a thermostat has been replaced, and in order to understand the new heating issue, we asked her "Does it get hot during stop and go driving or when you are driving on the highway?"She replied that the overheating occurs during highway drivingIn order to check for this type of overheating problem, we had to remove the radiatorThis is standard procedure to inspect the radiator for blockageWhen we did this, we discovered a plastic bag that had been lodged, and we dislodged the bag for her carShe returned to pick up the car, and we did not charge her for any of this labor as a favor to the customerThe total cost of the labor to remove the radiator and dislodge the bag is $If we were to charge her only for the second job then she owes us $The receipt shows the amount due for the second jobUptown Auto Repair conducted business in favor of the customer by not charging her for the labor involved in the removal of the plastic bagEven if the plastic bag had been removed first, the customer would have still experienced an overheating problemBoth courses of action were required: replacing the thermostat and removing the plastic bagThese were two separate issues with two separate solutionsUptown Auto Repair only charged the customer for one of these actionsI do not understand why Ms*** would like all of the work to be free of chargeHer overheating problems were resolved, and she never approached us directly about having any issues paying for the parts and labor for the thermostatAgain, thank you for informing us about this matter, and allowing us to respond to the complaint filedSincerely, *** ***
